Guest guest
Hi Anita, I personally have suffered from IBS for ten years. It would come and go, at first only once or twice a year, and most recently five times in one month. What I finally figured out was that mine was almost completely hormonally driven. Every time I started or stopped the pill, or if I missed a dose (especially during the third week), I was doomed to a bout of IBS. I also realized that it was always worse right after I had children and when I was weening from breast feeding. I was on the Yasmine pill for the last two years, and finally had to stop four months ago because it was getting so bad. Since stopping I have not had one problem....five months ago, I had five bouts in one month...most of which were much, much more painful than childbirth. Anyway, consider if there's any correlation with hormones for you...that's all it was for me. Hope it helps. -------------- Original message -------------- > Hello listmates, > > I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to make in dealing with > IBS. Guest guest
I was diagnosed with IBS at age 15. I control it through diet instead of taking medications. The single most effective prevention for me is staying away from dairy. -- Rima Regas Mom to Leah, age 7 (AS, DSI and APD) http://www.sensoryintegrationhelp.com

Guest guest
According to research I've seen, Signet Diagnostics LEAP test and the diet they add to their report have the highest documented improvement for IBS patients with diarrhea. If anyone would like the information, e-mail me personally and I'll send you the info. Guest guest
as far as probiotcs go we use kiki nature biotics for my kids and they have been nothing short of being a miracle - plus enzymes - houston. hth emma Anita Kugelstadt <mysuperteach@...> wrote: Hello listmates, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to make in dealing with IBS. Guest guest
For me what has worked wonders is avoiding foods I don't tolerate and enzymes. I stopped drinking milk and felt soooo much better just with that. Then when my son started enzymes I did as well and that was just heaven! When I take them like I should...all three, 20 min before eating...life is good. Sometimes too much fat in a meal or too much caffeine and the deal is off but that is expected. After staying off milk for about 2 years, I braved it with tons of enzymes and I can do it. Not a lot but I can now have a decent glass or even a small amount of ice cream. Before I was the type that often didn't eat out in public for fear that I would get sick. Not I rarely worry about it. I just got a book, What you doctor won't tell you about IBS, something like that. I like those types of books. Haven't been able to read it yet but it was highly recommended on Amazon. Probiotics would be great as well! Good luck!!!! For me, the problem stopped cold when I stopped eating gluten. I also stopped eating dairy at the same time. I just lucked out by hitting the two foods that were contributing to my problem. I avoid gluten meticulously. When I came in this group and found that many people are using GFCF diets with autistic children who are mercury poisoned, and I am mercury poisoned, and I came across that diet in a different way, it was one of those hmmmmmmmm moments for me.
