Guest guest
Hi there, thanks for your comments!! Our boys do sound similar indeed! I just don't get this....Yeast-Aid should lower yeast, so why the thrush? I could perhaps use nystatin orally, my pediatrician would surely prescribe it. I don't know how much I could ask from my DAN doctor since I haven't seen her for a while, and I have been doing now things on my own (got discouraged by 8 hrs DMSA protocol advice). Why would I have a yeast flare up now? Maybe, I guess, it would be logical, for the yeast to try to fight back the anti-yeast supplement!! Maybe. It sounds plausible to me! Anyone else thinks the same? Anyone else knows more than I do regarding this topic? In response to your Q though, I have not done another round since the last round three weeks ago. i have decided to start treating the symptoms that my son developed after the last 8-hr protocol with TD DMSA 3 weeks ago. Some suggested yeast, so I took the Glutathione out (which helped for the most part ecept increased stims), added more Culturelle (usually helps, cant harm him for sure), and started yeast Aid 2-3 days ago. If his behaviors/thrush gets a bit more under control, I will do another round of TD DMSA on a 4-hr schedule and see what happens. My DAN doc today suggested that he may not tolerate well DMSA (be allergic to it) and we could test him for that if he gets sick/develops similar behaviors after new round on 4 hr schedule. Their practice is big on NAET, which was very helpful to both my son and myself in the past, so I guess that's something to explore, but I would rather first see this yeast issue through. I think the thrush may be related to the anti-yeast protocol, I am just not a 100% sure about how it relates to it... I know you are wondering about chelating again on a 4 hr schedule. It sounds safer to me, and I will give it a try, but I want to do it right this time and prepare my son's body more through the anti-yeast protocol and increasing the minerals/antioxidants gradually. I was gonna add ALA into the mix down the road, but I want to do everything one-by-one so that I can track the effects, good or bad.... I hope this helped you as well... Take care That sounds like thrush which is the same as a yeast infection. I hope he gets better soon. He sounds so much like my son!!! My son is doing all the same things...horrid sounds, mania like behavior, and he loves squishing himself under us or piling pillows on himself!! Things have improved from going to 4 hours? I have been doing 8 hours td-dmps. I can't stand the thought of getting up or waking him up that much. I already have to wake him once for the 8 hour protocol and he does wake up (I can't get him to stay asleep)...oh well! > > Hi everyone, > > I have been posting a lot over the past three weeks, since I have joined this group, and I really appreciate all the responses and advise I got so far. Tonight I have a bit of an update and a question about a concern I have about my 4-year-old with ASD. > > He was crying and touching the inside his oral cavity, seemed really uncomfortable or in pain and even wanted me to feel his mouth. I could not see too much but the inside of his mouth felt kind of bumpy. I was wondering what you all think this could be and how to help him. Here's what we have been doing over the past couple weeks: > > 1. TD-DMSA 8 hrs doses, about three weeks ago > 2. Noticed bad side effects (expanded on these in a prior email) and joined this group only to find out that 4 hrs dosing is much safer and more efficient > 3. Son slowly has calmed down over the next week...but the increase in some of his symptoms lead some of you and me believe that something needs to be changed (stacking, lining things up, screaming, spitting a lot) > 4. Doubled Culturelle to help possible yeast issues 2 weeks ago. > 5. removed TD Glutathione 6 days ago - observed for three days to see if it helps. Son's spitting has decreased, he became much happier, more engaged, better eye contact, much calmer, excellent problem solving, better receptive language/following directions/better word approximations but stimming/stacking/mania- like behaviors increasing!! > 5. 4 days ago started giving Culturelle 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening to help with possible yeast/BMs. > 6. Per Dana's advice, I increased my yeast protocol. Started adding Yeast-Aid from Kirkman's 1/2 capsule two times a day two and a half days ago. Even though Yeast-Aid is a mix of many things, I had ordered a trial dose and started using it for now. > 7. BTW, son had no BMs for four days - but yesterday he finally had one, looking normal. Today he had another one, so that's a good sign I think. All the improvements continue to show but so do the stim/mania-like behaviors and high pitched screaming. Also, he has been squeezing himself under our bodies, between cusions like crazy!! > > Why I am writing today mainly is because my son has been touching the inside of his mouth more like the past 3-4 days... And today he really seemed to be in pain. I could feel the bumps inside his mouth!! I could not see any white coating inside the mouth though, just felt the bumps. > > What do you think it could be from? Could it be a sign of yeast die-off as we began Yeast-Aid just about 21/2 days ago? What can I do to help this issue to make him more comfortable now, and on the long run? > > FYI, Yeast-Aid contains the following: > > olive leaf extract 200mg > pau d'arco extract 200 mg > goldenseal extract 100mg > caprilyc acid 100mg > biotin 900 mcg > vitamin c 500 mg > oregano 100 mg > cranberry extract 25 mg > and selenium 70 mcg > > > Please advise!! Thanks so much in advance!! > > > PS. I will be changing my email address specifically for the purposes of this group to aedape4@... - so future emails may come from this address. > > --------------------------------- Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Great! Now I will find it hard to ever switch to the dmsa if I have to give it every 4 hours j/k > > > > That sounds like thrush which is the same as a yeast infection. I > > hope he gets better soon. I could not see too much but the inside of his mouth felt kind of bumpy. Sounds like oral thrush, a yeast issue. > 1. This tends to increase yeast. Also, when my son no longer needed glut, he would spit and then play with it. This sounds like he no longer needs glut. > What do you think it could be from? Could it be a sign of yeast die-off as we began Yeast-Aid just about 21/2 days ago? What can I do to help this issue to make him more comfortable now, and on the long run? When I did a yeast protocol for myself, the yeast migrated to other areas of my body before it was eliminated. The yeast might be all migrating to your son's mouth. I have had oral thrush before, nasty stuff! Dana
