What exactly is sucralose? I am always leery of natural flavorings as

well...Now i'm going to go through all my son's Kirkman's vitamins. I

don't care much for any citric acid in my son's vitamins either. It's

so hard to find vitamins just the way you want them.

Sucralose is another name for splenda, which is a sugar molecule with one of

the components replaced by chlorine.. In the labs it was only tested for

stability while cooking with it. I t was never tested for safety when it hits

the hydrochloric acid in your stomach it breaks down into chlorine. A very

dangerous product Jen

OH GEESE! I don't want my son having any of that! That is horrible!

I wonder if anyone has ever asked them about it? I told them about

xanthan gum being made from corn and they claimed it was not. Humm...

Chlorine naturally occurs in a lot of vegetables, so even though this may sound

scary, it's not necessarily toxic. I don't think its metabolized. And from what

I've read about xanthan gum, it's sometimes mixed with corn starch to enhance

its thickening properties, but it's not made FROM corn. FWIW

I emailed them once and they never responded.

Yes, I did...They said that so many kids are SCD and can't have sugar,

so they use sucralose instead.

I glanced through their catalog again and it seems that sucralose is

in the flavored powders, not all of the flavored powders though. And

it seems that the hypoallergenic capsules are pretty much safe but

always check. I personally after tasting the hypoallergenic capsules

vs. the flavored powders think the hypoallergenic taste better. But

that's just me. My son doesn't seem to mind.

No kidding...if sucralose is basically Splenda, I definantly don't

want my son having any of that!

and Trish:

If you haven't done so yet, would you consider signing the online

petition I've written to ask Kirkmans to remove sucralose from their

products:

http://www.petitiononline.com/rsfkp/petition.html

....and pass the word on to others, too, if you can!

Thanks
