Guest guest
Hello , Not , but my comments are interspersed: > > Wouldn't 1mg/lb be 30 mg/dose (180mg/day)? Andy recommends a maximum of 1/2 mg of DMSA/pound. One mg/pound per dose is double his recommended maximum. We've seen a number of posts here where people have gone over that and had very bad reactions. I started my son at 1/8 mg/pound and have worked up to 1/4 mg/pound. We won't be going higher than that for a long time (even after 60 some days of chelation) although we do go a bit higher with the ALA--about 1/3 mg/pound. I am a little confused > now because the rx says 75 mg/ml but Angie at Wellness said the > script was written for 225mg/day. Some people choose to start ALA almost immediately. It is best not to start the two at the same time, just in case your child is one of the few who might have a bad reaction to one or the other chelator. You may want to ask for advice from people who use the TD version as to what sort of dosing they started with. No one is quite sure how much of the TD is absorbed, so I would suggest starting with a very low dose and working up as you see that your child is doing well with chelation. So when I do add ALA, I don't dose every four hours but every > three hours? Are you doing 3/11? How do people do that when their > kids are in school? You dose ALA every three hours. Some people even need to go every 2.5 hours. Most people dose over the weekends, beginning asap after school on Friday and finishing Monday morning. Doing that, you can get in very close to three days. Do you know how to do a urine test when they > aren't potty trained? Do I just get the first morning urine on the > last " on " day? Or does it have to be a timed thing? You can get pediatric bags to help with catching urine. There are also other tricks if that doesn't work. There is controversy over when to catch the urine to get the best reading on it. Timed catches are more accurate, but pretty difficult if your child isn't using a toilet. Remember that these tests are not very accurate. The best way to know if chelation is working is to observe your child. Sorry about > all the questions.
