Guest guest
I finally got the DDI Hair Elements test back, and this is what I received. I'm dismayed to be feeling a huge letdown because I just really thought I'd see something here. He doesn't meet any counting rules, and yet based on his vaccine records, he was definitely exposed. I am thinking of chelating some rounds and doing another test, just to see if I can shake things up. Does this sound like the thing to do? I realized I was really pinning my hopes on this as a way to possibly help my son, and I know that sounds bad - actually hoping the test showed problems, because then I would have a direction to take. I'm at a loss on how to help my little boy! Does this sound like the thing to do? Not sure anything would change about a hair test after just a few rounds, but I would definitely recommend you do try a few rounds, to see if you notice any changes in your child. > aluminum 8.1 < 8.0 green (borderline yellow) > antimony 0.10 < .066 yellow > arsenic 0.21 < .080 yellow > bismuth .27 < .13 yellow > cadmium .42 < .15 yellow > lead 2.8 < 1.0 yellow > silver 0.22 < 0.13 yellow > tin 0.46 < 0.30 yellow Consider eliminating sources of current exposures http://www.danasview.net/metals.htm As an example of why this test might still have good info for you, I know a few kids who recovered just by removing all the antimony from their environment. The lead reading is also something to consider. > Selenium 0.90 0.95-1.7 yellow under 50% Adding this was very helpful for my son. Does this sound like the thing to do? Yes. My son, and others here too, didn't meet the counting rules either but have benefied enormously from chelation. My son's test also had high aluminum, antimony, and arsenic. > I realized I was really pinning my hopes on this as a way to possibly help my son, and I know that sounds bad - actually hoping the test showed problems, because then I would have a direction to take. Not bad at all, totally understandable. I'd consider a 5-10 round trial of chelation Andy-style and see if he responds. Nell
Guest guest
You could do the Urinary Porphyrins urine test that is being done in Paris. Pain to pay for but easy to collect. Andy checked a set of results for me and said it was valid. The wee needs to get there within 5 days which shouldn't be too difficult. I am plannign on doing one on Sam soon Mandi in UK

Guest guest
Dana and Nell, I will definitely be chelating just to see, but was actually considering something along the lines of a 20 round commitment before making any decisions, so you have cemented that, thanks! His diet stinks, I can't get him to eat anything, but he is on conventional ADHD meds (Focalin) for school, and it wreaks havoc with appetite. I caved when he just couldn't function in a classroom, and with meds he is getting A's and holding his own behavior wise. At home, he comes down off the medicine and the process is a daily nightmare of screeching, screaming, hitting, slamming, whining, crying, etc., escalating until we give him clonidine to knock him out. Homework is impossible, we get maybe half of it done. It hurts us all terribly, but mostly Hunter since he is very aware his behavior costs him friends and respect from those around him. He just cannot seem to control it. :-( Finding sources of this stuff sounds overwhelming, but if it's in his environment, then I have a 10 year old and a 2.5 year old at risk. Thanks for that suggestion. I just don't know what all I am looking at, and the information needed to be adept at this is so vast and foreign that I am feeling inadequate and pretty overwhelmed. Guest guest
and the information needed to be adept at this is so vast and foreign that I am feeling inadequate and pretty overwhelmed. I think everyone feels this way at the beginning. Just keep reading here, study the FAQ and the files, use onibasu to search for posts on things you want more info about, and ask all the questions you want. I have a feeling your son is going to be in a lot better shape soon. Nell
Guest guest
I would definitely do a few rounds, several actually, and then decide what you want to do. Mine didn't meet the counting rules either and yet he is improving with chelation. Maybe he is holding his toxins inside and it just isn't registering in his hair? Who knows? I know he had plenty of exposure and is autistic so a metal issue was also a given for me. I was crushed when his challenge test came back with little on it. Now I know that isn't a good test for more than one reason. I do plan on testing my NT son and will chelate for a few rounds regardless as well. He wasn't vaccinated but was a Rhogam baby and I am toxic myself so his issues are small but still likely Hg induced. One thing is for sure, our kids are different than all other kids. It is impossible to know what is going to be helpful or not until you try! He may test not toxic but be helped immensely by chelation. Or his issue may lie elsewhere. What is great is that you are searching for it. He is luck to have a mother who is willing to do this for him! Just make sure you chelate properly and that he doesn't have any Hg in his mouth. Wishing you lots of luck! McSeveney <cgolla@...> wrote: I finally got the DDI Hair Elements test back, and this is what I received. Identify and remove/reduce sources of exposure to the above. You have arsenic and lead above reference range. DMSA chelates both lead and mercury. ALA chelates both arsenic and mercury. A trial of chelation sounds like a good idea. It may very well be the above causing symptoms or could be that mercury caused his body to have difficulty detoxing these. There is also a antimony/arsenic-autism list on groups. _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Guest guest
My hair analysis came back initially with no mercury, and I have seen this many times in people that are very mercury toxic but have no ability to metabolize it out of their body. Later when I started to metabolize mercury after my minerals had come up I had huge amounts in my hair. This was talked about in the US gov book " The Chronic Effect of Mercury on Organisms " , that no mercury in urine or hair often meant the person had the highest burden of mercury, not the least.
