Stainless steel caps contain nickel which may be an issue for some people. They

do not contain mercury. I would suspect the prolonged anestesia.

S S

My 4 yr old underwent general anesthesia 1 week ago for almost 3 hrs for dental

work on her baby teeth. NEVER give raisins for potty training. She had 4 root

canals and 3 large fillings placed. And now has SIX stainless steel caps and

one teeth was finally pulled because it had a large abscess. (We brush/floss 3

times a day).
He's a great dentist, but he's not mercury-free and thought I was crazy for

refusing amalgam. We're still chelating her and ready for another round. I just

spoke to a mom who told me that all the silver caps have mercury.
Does anyone know if the stainless steel caps have anything bad in them? I've

already annoyed my dentist.
She was doing so well before, but has regressed w/ tantrums, stims, and lots

of potty accidents since the procedure. I think it might have been the

prolonged anesthesia? Should I have refused the root canals (on baby teeth) and

forced him to pull all six teeth? Should I pull them now? Is there any

supplement I can give her to get over this hump (I've increased her glutathione

and NAC)? She's on nuthera vitamins and gets minerals, B-12, MTP promoter

II.
Can I still chelate using the old protocol?
DMPS 30mg every 8 hrs (40 lb child) for 4 days and off 11 days? With all the

extra steel do I have to increase the dose? Should I hold off on chelating for

a couple of weeks? We don't have a DAN doctor so we're just doing this

ourselves. kinda scary.

Thanks so much in advance,
Lots of antioxidants (vit c, vit e, co Q 10)

>>(I've increased her glutathione and NAC)

Try stopping these and see if that helps.

>>Should I hold off on chelating for a couple of weeks?

I would.

I don't know what to say about all that dental work. I don't really

trust dentists, especially the ones who use amalgam. What did he use

to fill the root canals?

Sheri,

Now, is anybody interested in figuring out why a 4 year old with

good dental habits has such poor teeth? What does the dentist say?

I would start looking at some preventative care for these teeth to

avoid issues like this in the future (more than just the regular

brushing you are already doing). Even sealants sound better than

all of this surgical mess. I don't know diddly about teeth, but is

her enamel intact?

I hope you are able to recover her soon.

I come from a family with horrible teeth. I've wondered if that which makes

some of us more susceptible to metal toxicity also plays a role in tooth decay

somehow. Maybe something to do with mercury messing with the pH of the

saliva??? I obviously don't have any solid theories. I had lots of fillings in

my deciduous (baby) teeth and 17 fillings in my " permanent " teeth when I had

them replaced and have gotten more since. The dentist has no good explanation.

One set of grandparents and an uncle got dentures sometime in their 40s. My

younger sister just got upper and lower partials. My mother had lots of

fillings.

My dentist told me that there are some people who seem to have some

sort of bacteria that causes the cavities. He didn't go into any

detail because we were talking about a different topic and he was

just using that as an example. I have an appointment with him soon

and will ask him to write down the name of the bacteria if he can.

Perhaps there is a way of dealing with it. If I can get any

information, I will post it.

I know I have seen studies that say that where the water is high in molybdenum,

there is less tooth decay.

The dentist I just saw said she thinks I have lots of gum line cavities because

I clench my teeth a lot, like all the time. She says it causes small fractures

in the enamel and that makes me much more suseptable to cavities there.

My 8 year NT son had his first 2 permanent molars come in with no enamel - the

explanation from the dentist was that he maybe had a fever or antibiotics during

the period of time when these teeth were " budding " .

According to my dentist, xylitol gum is spectacular for this. I can't

seem to find the link, but I did find one source that didn't have

other nasty additives. It tastes great, is wonderful for a sweet treat

for the kids, but it costs an arm and a leg.

My kids have excellent teeth, and they have poor dental habits. I

discovered that it was because of calcium toxicity. Too much calcium,

no tooth decay. However, too much calcium did cause the baby teeth

not to fall out, which is another problem entirely.

I would suspect that there is lead in the teeth, or deficiency of

magnesium and/or vitamin D. Either or both of these issues will cause

calcium deficiency in the teeth, leading to excessive decay.

And excessive calcium can cause gall or kidney stones.
