Also natural flavorings, which are a disaster for my kids. Even though a multi has such convenience appeal, IME there's always something wrong with them -- either the dosages are way off or there's an ingredient that isn;t tolerated, whether it's an aditive like sucralose or something else, like P5P. Guest guest
> http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/drn/drndetox.html No comment on this one. A few of the ingredients look okay, some of them my son was toxic. > http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/drn/drnvitamin.html Vitamin A as beta carotene, would not have helped my son at all. B vitamins seem reasonable. Not nearly enough biotin or B1, but my son needed grossly huge levels of those. My son needed higher levels of many of the other ingredients, but the quantities in this supp seem okay for most kids. My son did not tolerate orange or tangerine, even as just flavors, until the very end of ALA chelation. I won't use sucralose. > Another load of supplements recommended on top of all the others very > $$$ Pricy too. You can make your own, which is what I did by reading ingredients of " things that help many kids " and then going to my local health food store and buying them individually, then compounding my own in my kitchen [starting everything one at a time first]. Guest guest
> Dana, > > How did you compound them yourself in your kitchen? Not Dana, but I do the same thing. I buy B vites, zinc, milk thistle, etc. separately (and sometimes had to try a different form or another brand) test them individually, and then once a week I dump the week's worth of caps onto a piece of paper, stir wildly, and scoop the mixture into empty caps. It helps to listen to really great music at the same time. Nell

Guest guest
HAHA! Too funny! All the empty caps make nice music. LOL Nice touch of humor especially when you pay an arm and leg for the supplements, you might as well get the use out of the empty capsules. That is if your child does not swallow them. > > .... and then once a week I dump the week's > worth of caps onto a piece of paper, stir wildly, and scoop the > mixture into empty caps. For people following his protocol it will no doubt save us money since we are not buying all this stuff separately. I've been waiting all week for these!!! My son's supplement requirements change almost daily [which is very frustrating, to finally figure something out, only to have it change 24 hours later, which has actually happened several times, aarrgghh!]. So I do the compounding 3x per day. I set out two small custard dishes [one for #2 and one for #3], and I take out each supplement and include it at the desired dose for each child. This takes a lot of time and is very frustrating, but if I compounded more than 1-2 doses at a time, I would end up throwing them away most of the time. Wow! I think I'm just less observant, and possibly n doesn't respond that visibly to many supps. I can tell when something is having a bad effect much more easily than a good one. Right now I'm doing a complete supp overhaul to figure out what's bothering him -- I gave nothing for a few days and am adding them back one at a time. I'm assuming that for the basic chelation supps (minerals +antioxidants) I should keep them as long as they don't have a bad effect, nevermind seeing anything positive. However, at this stage of biomedical/recovery, it is also dramatic when he needs something. Like the folic acid, which caused a complete elimination of scripting within 30 minutes, and I was able to watch the effect wear off several hours later. >> Right now I'm > doing a complete supp overhaul to figure out what's bothering him -- I > gave nothing for a few days and am adding them back one at a time. My son never has just " no effect " , so I can't really comment. When I give something that he no longer needs, he regresses in a very noticeable manner. Guest guest
> How did you compound them yourself in your kitchen? I am doing the same thing, but with one pill at a time. I decide what my son needs for the day and I fill empty capsules with whatever supplement quantities I need. It doesn't take more than a few minutes... And this way I can save some money too, because I buy supplements in higher doses (which are cheaper as a total). And I don't have to give my son 20 different pills - having a pill of a higher dose I only need a fraction of it. Valentina

Guest guest
The line of DRN products that Kirkman carries were developed for Dr. Jim Neubrander's patients. They are not new Detox products though one is used by Dr Neubrander to aid in his detox protocol. They are products to be used by Dr Neubrander's patients as directed by the doctor. Patients of other doctors should not use these unless specifically instructed to by their physician.
