It may ease the minds of some who are very sceptical of the marketing structure of this stuff. Also, please let us know why the patent that is so often referred to should be meaningful to us. Guest guest Posted April 9, 2006 Report Share Posted April 9, 2006 Anne, Thank you for these questions. The reason the participant has to pay for their own NCD is simply budget. These set of studies are not being organized by the company. The sponsor, Health & Wellness Research Institute, is a small non-profit organized to do these studies and more like them once these are complete. The company does have it's own series of studies that it is funding but they are not focussed on autism. They just finished one with Duke University that is to be published in a peer-reviewed journal in June, so I'm told. The focus of that study was to prove that NCD Zeolite is indeed pulling heavy metals from the body and which ones. They looked at coal miners and 6 average men. I also know they have 6 more studies under way but I don't expect to see the results from them for over 1 yr. Because of my personal relationship with of Autismtoday, I learned of the powerful effect NCD was having with ASD, ADD/ADHA,MS,C , diabetes, and other issues. My background includes having put together a clinical study for an expensive pulsed magnetic healing device a number of years ago. Since this study is not being funded by the company, I with a few of my associates in support decided to under take this project primarily on my own. I've been involved with alternative medicine avocationally for 25 yrs. I co-produced a TV series on a mind-body-spirit approach to cancer 20 years ago. So in short, there is no budget to cover the costs of the product for the participant. Same as no budget to cover me (btw, I've been involved with this product since Dec and I've received 1 check for $148, not even equal to 1 hour of my business management consulting rate.) Fortunately, I have another source of income, and so the few funds required in addition to my time and the project is being supported by a few volunteers. (We are always looking for more...( grin ) ) My hope is that at some point when we have enough data assembled, we will offer a full funded study. My estimate is that it will cost about $75,000. This will cover only 50 participants receiving NCD and 50 receiving a placebo, and all the costs surrounding the study. It will be done with the intention of publishing the study in a peer-reviewed journal and probably take a couple years from start to publication. If you or anyone reading this has a wealthy friend who might be interested in supporting a worthy cause, please send them my way. I'd love to talk with them. In the meantime, I keep working with the resources at hand. In the meantime, for those who want to try NCD before waiting for the studies, this is a way they can do so and get specific data about the changes occuring in their child and help the wider autistic community by their sacrafice of time and energy. (There should be no additional cost if they were going to try NCD anyway.) The reason the patent is referred to for at least a couple reasons: o it is extremely rare to have a health product that is patented to perform a function such as heal cancer, and not have that product owned by a pharmecuetical company. o in the patent, it discusses the removal of heavy metals & the interference of a viruses ability to replicate o this product isn't something someone just thought up. There have been many years of research and testing to develop it. It is true the patent says nothing about asd or the like. The effects there were only discovered after the product was released and parents started reporting the results they were witnessing. " I have had bad experiences with other companies who require registration - it is a common method used by people to turn around and advertise (not implying this is the method of your fine site). If the product is as good as is claimed, I'm sure I will hear of it again. No doubt it does something. Even cilantro does something. Only willing parties should be used . You would think that any study that has the person testing the product, buy it might be subject to ridicule down the road if the test were of a positive nature. Do not think for one minute that my relating the results of my use of NCD are anything but that. But, you must at least give the respect that I am trying to relate my own experience for that is the most I have. Hopefully, if NCD is the product that it has claimed to be it will get into the right hands for the proper use. I myself am a skeptic at heart and will remain so. I also will continue to use NCD, for I believe , with all honesty that it has helped me. As far as me needing a nice polished website to speak for me, I need it not. I will go to people that I believe might be interested enough to look for themselves. AS far as trust goes, obviously I do not expect any of you to trust me at this point, for I have not earned that trust. I also do not expect anyone to go into something blindly. Most normally the person/institution conducting the study/experiment provides the product.
