Guest guest
You are not a crazy person!!! I have read about a few who are in similar situations. Tested other kids and they came back toxic. Are now chelating them. My thoughts...I have a 3 1/2 year old NT son whom I am going to be hair testing really soon now. His hair grows extremely slow and it has taken forever to get to a length where I can cut it and him not look like he is headed to Basic Training! If he comes back toxic or even close we will be doing a long trial of chelation. My concerns with him are also small and sometimes fleeting. It is even hard to explain his behaviors but they just are a little off. He is unvaccinated but was a Rhogam baby. I also haven't been able to pinpoint when my dental work was done around the time I was pregnant or just before then. I had a couple amalgams replaced in the incorrect way before I knew better. I am also pretty toxic myself so there is a reasonable possibility that he could have an issue with detox. From what I can gather, nobody in our family is a good detoxer. I have a suspicition that my ASD son may have the MTWTF (SP?) mutation. I want to chelate him even though he is considered typical for two reasons. One, it would be nice to resolve those issues because when they do rear their ugly head it isn't fun. This can be managed since he is three but I am not a big person, it won't be manageable if he is 12. If he is having difficulty he will likely feel better if his body burden is reduced. I know I am hoping for that myself. His peds doctor says she thinks he may have a form of ADD but is too young to really diagnose. ADD is really on the ASD spectrum, just at the very bottom. The other reason is if he already has a body burden of metals I don't want it to just increase and cause medical issues later. There are several diseases including alzheimers, MS, parkinsons, lupus...that are being attributed to metal poisoning. I don't want that for him later. And people are getting these at younger and younger ages. That is my opinion anyway. joshisims <joshisims@...> wrote: Hello listmates I'm looking for accounts from parents that have found their NT children have toxicity issues. Have you chelated? (I know a few parents on this list have done so.) What kinds of results did/do you see, good or bad? How did it change your kids? Did you run into problems convincing spouses/doctors that chelation was a necessary step? How did you know or suspect that there were heavy metal issues in these " normal " children? I had a hair test done for my NT daughter. She has had a few traits/symptoms that are worrisome, though subtle. They come and go, and she has been doing well recently. The test results arrived yesterday (ironically, it was " crazy hair day " at school). It meets two counting rules: all low (with only two essential elements over 50%) and SIX elements in the red. Toxic elements are completely in the green. This test is much worse than my son's was, his *just* missed meeting any rules at all. To me this seems very alarming, but I can't count on our doctor to see things this way, given that she appears to be in excellent health and doesn't appear to test for high levels of toxins (yes, most of us believe that that is meaningless, but it requires a knowledge of/belief in the deranged transport theory and counting rules to look past those lovely, low toxic values). My husband will not agree to a trial of chelation without a doctor's okay. He does agree that it seems to be a good thing for our autistic son, but this is just too bizarre for him. I have to say that even I am shocked. We're getting another test done, just to make sure results weren't switched. I know I look like a crazy person in this situation. Have you chelated? Yes, but only about 15 rounds. I'm about to do a new hair test to see what's going on. > What kinds of results did/do you > see, good or bad? Her only symptom was chronic yeast, and possibly respiratory troubles. The respiratory stuff is gone and her tendency to get yeast is much much less. She had no side effects from chelation that I could see or that she reported. >Did you run into > problems convincing spouses/doctors that chelation was a necessary > step? After the chelation success with n, my husband didn't need any convincing. I don't plan to tell any doctors about it, although the OD I'm seeing now didn't bat an eye when I told him I was chelating. So sympathetic docs are out there. > How did you know or suspect that there were heavy metal issues > in these " normal " children? She was born in 2000 and I'm sure got some bad vaxes even though the nurses swore the vaxes were thimerosal-free. And that yeast problem, which she'd had since infancy (did the ped ever say anything about her blazing red vulva? Oh no, not a word. growl.) >My husband will not agree to a trial of chelation without a > doctor's okay. Can you shop around for a more sympathetic doc, a naturopath or something? Does your husband insist on permission from *that particular doc? The point to make with him, as I'm sure you know, is that being toxic now, even without any neuro symptoms, sets a person up for all kinds of bad stuff later on -- all the autoimmune diseases, cancer, on and on. Maybe get him to read HTI or AI, to scare him with what metals do? Sorry about the shock, Rene. Nell
Guest guest
I think more kids are toxic than not these days. Many of the millions of kids in this country on ADD med's should be metal tested. I tested both of mine...and the results are shocking! Hair doesn't lie...it means that whatever is in it was once in your child and very recently. > Hello listmates > > I'm looking for accounts from parents that have found their NT > children have toxicity issues. Her older brother, dx ASD, responded very well to chelation. She has food allergies, yeast. > I had a hair test done for my NT daughter. My NT daughter first hair test was terrible but she was very young, 9 month old, and I think that interpretation of baby hair is somewhat different. Her second hair test was much better a year later. I did give her supplements to help her detoxify on her own (zinc, selenium and omega3) when she was a baby. I started chelation when she was 27 mo. > This test is much worse than my son's was, his *just* > missed meeting any rules at all. Guest guest
Thank you for your input, , Jan, Nell, and . I've gone over my daughter's hair test again. It actually meets three rules, not two. How is this possible?? I'm going to order a test for myself. Nell - we'll run this by our ped. because he orders our son's testing and is somewhat familiar with what we're doing, but our daughter is not actually his patient, being a " normal " kid. I don't expect him to take her on, or order tests. I think my husband just needs someone in a white coat who doesn't appear to be a lunatic saying " this test does look strange, and what you want to do is not harmful " . I feel frustrated that I have to jump through the same hoops that I did to get people on board for my son. I do understand it, though. I believe I can make a case for all of the recommended supps (given the extreme all-low essential elements) and chelation with ALA, since nobody but us seems to see it as anything but a great antioxidant. That way I only look like a harmless crazy person, not a dangerous one. And testing is not as much of an issue with low dose ALA-only chelation, right? I will have my husband read the hair test book, or at least the most pertinent parts. - my daughter is five. So, no, not baby hair. thanks, everybody. Guest guest
We just finished round 17, chelating my 2 NT kids and myself. We all met the counting rules, all-low. After reading this list, and reading Andy's books, I can see we have relatively subtle signs of poisoning. I can definitely put together a history of exposure (amalgams, vax's including Rhogam, seafood), and when looking at my family of origin I can piece together evidence here and there of metal problems. We decided to do a trial of chelation, 10 rounds, and then re-evaluate. I was hesistant to chelate because I wasn't convinced our situation was serious enough to warrant it. However, the more I read, the more I became convinced we should get the Hg OUT, NOW, and not wait for things to get worse. The chelation has been mostly problem-free; figuring out a yeast protocol that will work well for us has probably been the biggest challenge so far. So, not so bad at all. I've noticed subtle positive changes in myself. Probably the biggest change is I feel less irritable and my outlook on life seems a bit more positive. My youngest dd, who tends towards difficult and moody, is without a doubt more cheerful and flexible. My oldest dd, seems mostly the same. Maybe (a big maybe) a little more confident and less anxious. I've counted on my husband as outside observer. He was very skeptical about the whole Hg poisoning/chelation thing at first. After 10 rounds, when I asked him what he thought, he said without hesitation " keep chelating " . HTH, in Illinois
Guest guest
> I'm looking for accounts from parents that have found their NT > children have toxicity issues. Have you chelated? I have chelated all four of my kids. >>What kinds of results did/do you > see, good or bad? How did it change your kids? They have lost many of their issues. >> Did you run into > problems convincing spouses/doctors that chelation was a necessary > step? No doctor here. No problems convincing my husband, because he realized how much it helped #2 and #3, and wanted the other two kids to be physically " well " also. >>How did you know or suspect that there were heavy metal issues > in these " normal " children? Food issues for #4. Language and social delays for #1. >>My husband will not agree to a trial of chelation without a > doctor's okay. I used ALA for my kids, and if any 'non-believing " family members asked, I told them I was doing " antioxidant therapy " with the other kids. However, now all my family members see the improvements!
