Guest guest
Hiya Helen Try a warm bath rather than a hot one. Add some olive oil or coconut oil to the water. And, when you get out of the tub, rub some nice coconut oil all over your skin. Increase healthy fats in your diet, too. Hope this helps mjh In a message dated 12/22/2005 6:42:15 PM Eastern Standard Time, helenjora@... writes: I have a question about these, would like to do them, but right now I am having this problem with taking baths in that my skin has gotten so dry I lie awake itching at night if I take a bath that day and can't sleep. I like to soak in the tub to get warm in the winter, and for my muscle aches, but it seems to really dry my skin. Also hot baths are bad for my heart, Cheney warned me about getting overheated years ago, something about cytokine production which I don't quite understand but I think it makes the immune system rev up and then you get symptoms from that. I have gotten slammed a few times from being in the hot sun and taking hot baths, so I know he's right about that. But oh the allure of the bathtub when I'm cold and aching... I have always hated to take showers and now I know it's probably because of the orthostatic intolerance heart problem, standing up bothers me. So it looks like sink baths for me, or back to the medieval era of bathing once a year. Would there be anything I could put in there with the Epsom salts to help my dry skin? thanks, Helen mjh " The Basil Book " http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/

I can't take hot baths any more as they really wipe me out. And warm baths leave me feeling chilled. My solution is to take a hot bath while sipping cold water, and to have a washcloth with a little basin of cold water nearby so I can drape the cold, wet washrag over the top of my head, or mop my face and neck with it. You can also regulate your body temperature somewhat by putting something chilled on the insides of your wrists where all the blood vessels show close to the skin. Plus I do stay out of the sun, and of hot weather. -- el (andreafrankel at sbcglobal dot net) " wake now! Discover that YOU are the song that the morning brings... Guest guest
--- Hi, I don't know about the shaking and crying specifically, my son reacted by becoming very hyper when I gave him too much. Either way, I believe that starting with 2 cups of epsom salts is quite a lot! At the begining I gave a full cup and realized that he was detoxing too fast and couldn't deal with it. The recommendation given to me was to start with 1/4 of a cup and work up slowly. Even tho my son tolerates the epsom salts fine now, I don't think I have ever given my son 2 cups of it. Guest guest
I think your right, I read the files and it said 2 cups so I figured it would be alright. Does anyone know that if he reacted this way if it was detoxing? His ringworm appeared again, but then with him starting to cry and shake his arms it worries me. Thanks for the advice. Never giving 2 cups again!!
Guest guest
Valentina, I thought of that too. However, after a few minutes of having him out of the water. I held him over the water with just his feet beneath the water. After about 30 seconds, he started to almost cry. Im searching for information on this now. Obviously too much for him but, what is it doing? He was weird for about a min after he came out of the water. Thanks for the response. He was in the water when I added the salts both times, and still reacted when they disolved. HMM Thanks Mandy
Guest guest
I gave him a few baths about 2 weeks ago. One time I saw him act weird like tonight, but not severe. Tonight the big difference was he was in the sink not bath. I dont know why I keep saying bath so there was less water, 2 cups of salts. But the shaking and panic look and cry was similar to how he react 1 time before when he touched the salts. Just not this severe. Maybe this was a shock to his system if he is low in sulfur? Sometimes I feel so terrible when I give him something and he reacts badly. I just found a sulfurgroup at so Im thinking the group might know the answer, seeing that its all about sulfur. Thanks for the help Valentina. Mandy

Mandy, I don't know if this is the problem, but it happened to me, so I will tell you anyway, just in case. When I put the salts in the water when my son was already in the tub, I think the salts dissolving felt weird on his skin. Also I think it went under his body and it pricked his skin. He didn't like it either. I would try to dissolve the salts in the water first and then allow your son to take the bath. Valentina

After about 30 seconds, he started to almost cry. Is he reacting this way every time, or just this one time? Or maybe this is the first time you gave him an epsom salt bath? Guest guest
> so there was > less water, 2 cups of salts. I would say that this is too much salt. I never tried that much, so I don't know how this feels, but I can tell you for sure that the water (in a bath tub with a lot less salts) feels weird... I don't know how to describe it, but something is definitely changed. > Sometimes I feel so terrible when I give him something and he > reacts badly. You are such a good mother At least this time, don't feel bad. Your son is fine. Even if let's say he doesn't need these epsom baths, MgSO4 is really inoffensive. He will be fine, really. > I just found a sulfurgroup at so Im thinking the > group might know the answer, seeing that its all about sulfur. Yes, I've seen your message there. The group belongs to Owens. She is good. She has a lot of knowledge about sulfur and sulfate. > Thanks > for the help Valentina. You are very welcome. I wish I could help more... Anyway, just don't worry. I think it was too much salt, but I think he will be fine. Valentina
