Guest guest
Hi Pam: Because your daughter has a sibling who tends to store heavy metals, IMO, I would not use anything with Ala in it. Autism is not genetic, but I believe the tendency to be unable to excrete heavy metals is. Also, mercury can cause damage in the third optic nerve causing vision problems, so it may just be mercury that is causing the problem. Have you done a hair test for her? If not, IMO, again, I would. Yes, Ala should always be used every three hours unless a person is very, very sure there is no mercury in the body, and who can say that? [ ] using ALA for " NT " kids; is dosing schedule still important? Hi, I bought an ocular nutrition vitamin/mineral blend for my NT daughter; age 7. It contains ALA, although it does not give an amount (I noticed it when I got home... it is under the 'other ingredients' section). Should I use this? It is open, so I cannot take it back. If I use it, do I have to be careful with dosing despite her NT status? I don't like not knowing how much ALA is in here. I am going to try to contact The Vitamin Shoppe to see if they can give me more info, but I doubt they are the manufacturers. Bottom line question: should ALA always be used every 3 hours despite your health status (especially since you know family members are heavy metal poisoned)? Many of the ocular health blends contained ALA; I overlooked this one. Another question: does anybody use " ocular nutrition " supplements? If so, what do you use? My daughter's vision is quickly deteriorating (not anything bad... just classic myopia). Thanks, Pam =======================================================
Guest guest
It will go in the garbage unless I can find how much ALA it contains per capsule. If it has enough ALA, I'll use it every 3 hours on the weekends I chelate. I figured it wouldn't be a good product. I don't know what it is about those combo products that seems so appealing, but fwiw I've bought a bunch of them and they've all caused problems. Guest guest
You know, Nell, I broke my cardinal rule of avoiding these kind of junk products! I guess I know now why I discourage others from buying them. Waaaaay to many things in one capsule. Holiday optimism at it's best. I'm still looking for a simple and safe vitamin/mineral/herb for ocular health. Anyone? Guest guest
> I'm still looking for a simple and safe vitamin/mineral/herb for > ocular health. Anyone? I usually wear glasses for a very mild myopia. When I chelate with ALA, I don't need glasses anymore. My sight is perfect. Vitamin A I think should help. Did you ever hear of a plant called " celandine " (Chelidonium majus)? Or " Greater Celandine " . I remember learning about it in school... it is used for eye health (among many other uses). But you might want to research this one before you use it. Valentina
Guest guest
I do need to chelate my NT kids. I'm getting them primed by learning to swallow capsules and then they are joining our ALA party. Thanks, pam > > > I'm still looking for a simple and safe vitamin/mineral/herb for > > ocular health. My sight is perfect. So interesting. I keep taking my glasses off and on (and losing them!) because sometimes I seem to need them and other times not, and often the prescription feels way off. I remember you Valentina from when I was lurking here years ago, trying to piece together this weird strange chelation idea. Glad you're back! I feel the same way. During chelation my eyes feel weird. Tired maybe, feels like I have sand in them... But when I finish a cycle, my sight is absolutely perfect as far as I can tell. I can read the smallest writing from a distance, without any struggle. Valentina
