Guest guest
It's the mercury stirred up by chelation that causes yeast overgrowth the way I understand it. Guest guest
yeast genes/features have been directly annotated to the term response to mercury ion or its variants. The tables below show the specific genes that have been directly annotated to the term response to mercury ion or its variants. Click here to view all genes that have been annotated to response to mercury ion or one of its children. http://db.yeastgenome.org/cgi-bin/GO/go.pl?goid=46689 Donna > > > does anybody know?
> Bea
>
> > > _______________________________________________ > Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com > The most personalized portal on the Web! >
Guest guest
I don't actually KNOW the answer, but my GUESS would be that at least part of the reason is because the body excretes toxins primarily through the intestines so if you chelate, you funnel larger quantities of mercury into the gut and that upsets the chemical balance. Most likely, it makes the guts more acid. That may kill some of the good gut bugs and simply doing that will promote yeast growth in the same way antibiotics promote yeast. But, again, that's a GUESS, based on a little knowledge about how the body works. -- Michele in Limbo (formerly in California) talithamichele@... Guest guest
Another theory on that..whether or not this applies to children with gut issues, is uncertain, but in adults with mercury poisoning, during chelation the increased metal passing through the gut stimulates more yeast, as yeast is a response to the increase in metal. For some reason yeast tries to " eat " the mercury. I don't mean literally but most reading I have found on this subject says that the body's response to protect the gut from metal damage it to increase yeast, as yeast can absorb and carry the metals out. So the metal has less contact with the gut tissue. Again, only what I have read. Guest guest
Something that I've been considering lately is that if we're moving mercury during chelation, this might depress the Th1 response even further, making the body less able to fight the yeast. Like many things, I have a sense that the yeast is a result of a number of things working together. Guest guest
That is very likely too. > > > > > > I don't actually KNOW the answer, but my GUESS would be that at > > least part > > > of the reason is because the body excretes toxins primarily > > through the > > > intestines so if you chelate, you funnel larger quantities of > > mercury into > > > the gut and that upsets the chemical balance.
