Guest guest
Hello Joan, I had a Lumbar Puncture in 2001. I have chronic daily headaches and was sent to the Michigan Head and Neurological Institute for testing and one of the test was a Lumbar Puncture to rule out anything going on to cause the headaches. By the way I live in Illinois. The test was negative for anything (thank GOD). I walked out of the facility with my husbands assistance and went back to our motel and slept for several hours then when I woke up and was feeling better we went to dinner. The next day we checked out of the motel and drove home to Illinois. I was groggy and sleepy, but was fine. No ill side effects and was back to normal routines very quickly. Good luck and just pray for God's will on your decision. Sincerely,
Guest guest
Dr. Neiper said a lumbar tap can create an exacerbation and cause prolonged headaches. he also stated they could last for years. He stated if the procedure is absolutely necessary to make sure as little fluid is removed as possible. I don't think it matters if you have CFS or MS if you are going the natural route. The body will either heal or manifest more symptoms and tell the story. Also, mentally, I think "probable ms" is not as stressful to the mind and spirit. I just don't like these self-fulfilling prophecies of what one must medicate with, what percentage end up in a wheelchair, etc. It is a bunch of garbage for the mind. You need positive things that honor and nurture your mind, body and spirit. The stats aren't true and ms can be reversed. you get a DX and they will want to put you on CRABS and deny you Life Insurance. Get on the diet and take the LDN. Do some Yoga and go see a funny movie. On a final note, the fluid is in the spinal cord for a reason. It can NEVER replenish itself. It is directly implicated in the energy meridians of the body and it helps keep you in a state of balance. I may sound like a kook but ask an Acupuncturist what they think of spinal taps. Whatever you decide, God Bless and I hope you experience healing. Blessings, Kathy [low dose naltrexone] Re:Lumbar puncture Hello Joan, I had a Lumbar Puncture in 2001. Guest guest
Kathy, I love what you wrote, as a registered nurse for 15 years i completely agree with you. Any time we introduce anything foreign into our bodies we run the risk of causing problems. I would never get a spinal tap, and one of the biggest reasons is that it is an inconclusive test. You are putting yourself through such high risks for the possibilites of getting no further to the truth. I was diagnosed with an MRI reading and the symptoms that i had, and no doctor can force you to get a spinal tap, it is your choice. Its an interesting theory that the spinal fluid may not replenish after its taken out of the body. I've been diagnosed for 3 years, and through diet changes, a few high quality nutritional supplements, LDN, positive thinking, i have no symptoms, work and live a fullfilled life, and i hope the same for everyone out there. Guest guest
, Yes, I have lots of spasticity prob's in the morning, mostly legs. It subsides a bit during day. I quit a couple of times due to that and lots of pain in arms & hands. Then decided that I still feel better (stronger) than I ever did on anything else. This is my miracle drug that's going to help me walk again. I have to believe that the current discomforts will fade away as we continue with LDN. It's great to know that there are others out there, fighting the good fight. ebaker SPMS on LDN since June '
