High lead in urine test, Need advice on what to do next

Hi:

We've been recently consulting with Dr. Bradstreet regarding our son

on, 3 yrs old. His urine results came back from DDI showing

Lead levels of 23 with a reference range of <5. Results in hair from

Pfieffer recently showed 2.6 with a reference range of <1.0.

Dr. Bradstreet was extremely concern and thinks we should immediately

start EDTA-IV in conjunction of HBOT and come to his office ASAP.

Of course it has put a scare into my husband and myself and of course

we are concern about the costs of going to Florida for 2 weeks.

Has anyone else seen levels like that in their children?

Also what kind of successes or failures have other seen doing EDTA-

IV?

How often do you have to do the EDTA-IV and how actually is it done,

do you go into the office everyday over a period of time?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Our son's first test results showed 88 (ref <5). Shocked was not the word!

We were determined to use Buttar's protocol and did for about 6 months. We

pulled lead off the charts and quite a bite of mercury, After a short stop

of chelation to recup from surgery, we decided to switch to DMSA to work on

the lead. It's been another 6 months now and his lastest results came back

at 14(ref <5). There has been so many progresses with our son (8yo) within

the past year that we are afraid to stop anything! At least for our son,

getting the lead out has been making such improvements as awareness,

comprehension, speech (still needs work, but is coming more and more with

each round), etc. Again, I wanted to stay with the least invasive measures

so we haven't done any IVs. We have used the TD_DMPS and are presently using

oral DMSA. It may be slower, but it's working very well for our son.

God Bless and Good Luck,

Sue

PS Up to the last results, we were constantly showing 88, 79,and 77 for

results. So, yes, there could be so much more than you'd ever expect.

Consider identifying and reducing/removing sources of exposure. DMSA chelates

lead, you can get it over the counter and chelate orally.

Here is a chelation testimonial with a child who tested as 26. He did

oral DMSA per the mainstream protocol.

Lead stays in the blood stream for only a short time so that would show only

very recent exposure.

Would it not be a good idea to do a blood test as well?<BR>

Where do I purchase the DMSA and in what form? Also how do you

determine how much to give your child?

You can buy oral DMSA from Kirkman's. You could also do a google

search and see where else you could buy it? Just make sure it's a

good product. Maybe some others have specific brands that are good.

Hi ,

I have just begun to chelate my 2 NT kids and myself. We are using DMSA from

Vitamin

Research Products, the 25 mg capsules (I divide them for the kids).

www.vrp.com

This link to Moria's site includes dosage amounts (mg per body weight) and

timing.

Very important: If the individual has ANY mercury amalgam dental fillings, you

must NOT use DMSA, ALA, etc until the fillings are safely removed by a

mercury-free dentist using proper protocol.
