Getting off ULTRAM

I have been on 50 mg tablets of Ultram( Tramadol) for many years for

chronic neck and back pain, severe morning stiffness and for Auto

Immune disease symptoms. Also for the pain of Ulcerative Colitis and

Diverticulitis.

For the last 2 years my dose has been two 50 mg Tabs in the morning,

one 6 hrs later and one more 6 hrs later. I use Tylenol very

sparingly now and then for an added kick to the Ultram.

From what I am learning, I will need to stop the Ultram before I

start LDN.

Has anyone been through this?

I would like information how best to dose down and off?

Approximately how long will it take?

Were there bad side effects of coming off the Ultram?...What to do

for that?

How much time to let lapse before starting the LDN?

Or.....

Can you start the LDN and then dose down and off the Ultram so you

will not be totally with out something to ease the pain as the LDN

gets going. This is assuming that the LDN will take over where the

Ultram leaves off....but how soon and how effective is it as far as

pain relief? Is this hoping for too much?

What are your options for pain now, besides LDN, if you stopped

Ultram?

Thanks for any feedback!

I had generic Ultram for a short time. It said on the prescription bottle label that Ultram is Tramadol AND tylenol together. Tylenol is already in the Ultram.

I think this is a good question for Skip or Larry Freider. It depends on the individual how much pain is alleviated.

There are other things to do with LDN that are safe as a pain reducer. I would look into these avenues. I can offer help if you want to e-mail me with your situation.

Best, Kathy

I'm on LDN, but, I started Kalawalla July 1, 2007 and started to walk and drive again August 21, 2007, before Kalawalla, I hadn't walked or driven for three years, now, what can I say? I ordered from "Organic Hope" if you try Kalawalla, I hope it dose for you, what I think it did for me. I talked to from London, she's with the eqvilant to NMSS here in the states, she said, they have followed some trials on Kalawalla with much success but, not 100%.

Best to you,

Jim H.

Thought you might like this one: Retirement Some People Never

Retire One day, while walking to the store, I passed by a Nursing Home. On the front lawn were six old ladies lying naked on the grass. I thought this was totally unusual but continued on my way to the store.

On my return trip, I passed the same Nursing Home with the same six old ladies lying naked on the lawn. This time my curiosity got the best of me, and I went inside to talk to the manager. "Do you know there are six ladies lying naked on your front lawn?" "Yes," he said. "They are retired prostitutes, and they're having a yard

Ultracette is the one that is the Ultram with Tylenol added to it.

And the Ultram portion of Ultracette has less Mg's than the Original

Ultram.

Tramadol is just the generic name for Ultram.

I choose use the original version and just take Tylenol separately if

and when I need it.

I was told that when the expensive Name Brand Ultram had been on the

market long enough for the cheaper generic version to be marketed,

They " morphed " Ultracette so they could get another 10 years of a

Name Brand expensive drug before it could go generic.

Sneaky huh?

They did the same thing with Celexa which is an expensive name brand

anti anxiety and depression medication. When it was about to go

generic, they " morphed " it into Lexapro, telling patients it

basically the same benefits but was better b/c they just reformulated

it minus an ingredient that caused many patients to feel hot as a

side effect.

The old new and improved version trick....They can now get the Name

brand price for another 10 yrs selling it as Lexapro.

...where are you?

myself.
