Guest guest
Try DMAE H3. My son(4yo) was very hyperactive, impulsive, had a difficult time controlling his activity level. It's not a miracle cure but it help to knock him down a knotch. He's much more manageable in public. He's not all over the place in new places. It took about 6 weeks for us to really notice any changes but it definitely has helped. My son is four and we started out with just 3 drops of liquid in his juice and we've slowly increased it to 6 drops. We realized just this past New Year's it was working. We had a church dance and my son was as normal and neuro typical acting as can be. Usually he's all over the place, running, not predictable in his actions or behaviors. He sat at the table with us, ate dinner, when he walked around it was a normal walking pace. It was easy to follow him and manage him. It was the most wonderful evening we have ever experienced as a family. My husband and I were doing High-5's at the table. The other thing we implemented this past fall was Liquid Melatonin. My son would sometimes take 2 hours to settle into sleep. I literally had to physically hold him down and try to make him still in order for him to settle. It was exhausting to know I spent 2 hours every night trying to get him to sleep. We started the liquid Melatonin and give him 2 drops in a shot glass of juice and he is ready for bed and asleep in 30 minutes. The Melatonin has been life changing for us. > > Hi, > > I remember Andy posting some time ago about potential alternatives to > prescribed medicines. > > The son of a friend used to take Ritalin, which really helped in many > ways, but didn't feel right to him. Guest guest
For attention and focus, our ND told us to use Omega 3-6-9's and I will only use Nordic Naturals. For my younger son (almost 5 yo) he told me to up his dose rather than to use something like gingko. It has worked for us. For any kind of anxiety, we use 5-HTP with wonderful success. It is supposed to be like a prozac alternative. You cannot use this if you are already on an SSRI though. It is a precursor to serotonin. I know some kids who do very well with enzymes, meaning that the ADHD was primarily related to food issues. No-Fenol seems to be particularly helpful for many kids. Guest guest
, you just described my son to a T! I think I may look into that. I had to hold my son down for over an hour every nap and night to get him to sleep. When I started melatonin it worked miracles too. I took him off when he would go to bed on his own. I had to start up again though because he was waking up at 430. Now he is " sleeping in " until 630-700 again. Thank God for supplements! > > Try DMAE H3. Guest guest
Cathie, I picked it up at a local place it is made by Innovative Natural Products, www.inponline.com One whole dropper full is 3mg. I am literally giving him 2 little drops. I just squeezed as much as I could in the dropper and I counted 25 drops. Not too scientific, I know... You might be able to call them or email them and get more information for dosage based on the weight of your child. Their number is 1-800-893-7467. > > - > > Where do you get liquid melatonin? Guest guest
, I just tasted the DMAE.... It is nasty!!!! Salty and bitter at the same time. It says it is unflavored so I don't know whether they have a flavored version. It is made by TwinLab. Somehow my son has been tolerating it in his Juicy Juice. It was under $10.00 for the bottle and it's lasted a long time. > > > > Hi, > > > > I remember Andy posting some time ago about potential alternatives to > > prescribed medicines. > > > > The son of a friend used to take Ritalin, which really helped in many > > ways, but didn't feel right to him.
