Good morning, Dana and everyone,

Dana:

For my son, yes.

Hm, that's a little hopeful then! I have to have a lab test to tell for sure

though, whether he needs Glutathione or not. As you know, I stopped it, today is

the third day, and beside the stims the worse thing is night waking. He was up

between 2 and 5 am last night, finally went down with 2 mg of Melatonin at 5 am.

I don't know for sure what wakes him but he seems to be frightened at times, in

terror, and the other thing I worry about it the stims that keep him from

sleeping.

Dana: What are the stims?

Gathering and pushing around money, coins, holding them or making them

fall/slide from different surfaces. We have been allowing it a little more b/c

right now we are focusing on shaping his eating behavior and that's enough to

deal with at a time (he can be screaming loud which we only can take so much of)

but regardless of perhaps the behavioral/teaching piece of the whole thing I

think he totally has a higher need for this kind of stimming, for about 2-3

weeks, maybe 4 weeks. Especially since the last DMSA round. New stim is that he

wants to stack/line long poles/sticks up against the wall, and he has become

more rigid in this behavior. Once all is set up, he is happy to play and

interact with us, but otherwise he gets really really miserable. Same with the

money. He is able to allow us to play with his coins and stuff, but at times he

needs it so intensely... I don't know if it's the metals, I am more concerned

about his need to stim this way more than before and also his

increased rigidity.

But since I stopped the Glut, he has been much more happy and VERY loving and

affectionate. Once we get his mind off the coins and silly poles, he can play

very appropriately. His receptive language is much better and he is following

directions also better, even outside (stopping, waiting, etc). His verbal

expressions are getting better also.

What do you think of the above?

Tonight I am going to start some yeast support - I am thinking about yeast-aid

from Kirkmans, since this is what I have already obtained. Any opinion on this?

What does Trimethylglycine do?

Thanks for any adise/opinion you can give!
