Is white petrolium jelly / vaseline safe? I just read about preservs and dyes

being derived from oils and gasoline and now I'm confused and paranoid...

Thanks -- Jenn

Not a stupid question but the answer will vary depending on who you ask!

Many think it is safe and fine to use in whatever manner. There are different

grades available and it is apparently okay by FDA standards.

It is just my belief that you can dress up a rabbit to look like a cat but it

is still hops like a rabbit when turned loose. I just don't believe you can

change it/refine it and make something like that different and safe.

But, yes it is derived from petroleum, the same thing you put in your car.

European countries have banned it's use in products people use like cosmetics

and other body care products because of it being suspected of being

carcinogenic. Petroleum products when placed on the skin act like plastic,

nothing gets in or out. Our skin is a major detox pathway and by not letting

anything out that means toxins as well. What would be allowed out is now

trapped inside where it is not doing us any benefit. I don't know what this

will do to our insides?? That scares me. When I switched our products and

stopped using it I really noticed a difference when I accidentally bought the

wrong deodorant and it was in it. It really did feel like I had rubbed plastic

under my arms! I had to throw it out it felt so weird.

Long story short, I don't think it is safe at all and won't use anything with

that has it in it. It travels under different names though like mineral oil and

propylene glycol. It is in a lot of things including some medicines,

supplements (saw it in Kirkmans products more than once) and even in those

flushable wipes.

We don't use it any more. Once I learned that it was a petroleum

product. I know that motor oil on your skin can cause cancer..that

is a petroleum product. So like you say, if it quacks like a

duck...must be a duck. Go for the natural stuff!

I use un-petroleum for my daughter to avoid the petroleum-based

Vaseline . Ingredients: Castor oil, Coconut oil, Beeswax, Castorwax,

Soybean Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate and Tocopherol (Vitamin E).

It is a petroleum product. Safe for squeaky door hinges, and sticky

zippers. Not so good on baby bottoms!

Un-safe the use of petroleum jelly

Un-petroleum is addictive, you will need always this product in order to be

free of problems.

Are you using this petroleum on baby skin? You must go to:

http://www.tumedicoweb.com:8082/bin/page.mhtm?action=medicam & subaction=veritem & i\

d_medi=43

You can get this capent that contains:

zinc oxyde

benzalconium chloride

Vit. a, e and d from cod fish oil

And no more.... cost 5 dollars. I can send it to you...

Sorry ... I forgot all is in English, but with the help of a basic

translator you can get an idea... this is the real thing we the

Pediatricians recommend for the problems with skin due to the wetting of the

zone... It works marvels, in just one application the WORSE problem is

solved!
