Advice for adult male with amalgams can't afford to remove

My DH is almost 49yrs old. He has 12 amalgam fillings (starting

from around age 7 - unbelievably he has yet to need one replaced).

Our kids have some neurological problems that we are treating

biomedically and hope to be able to try chelating in a few months

when we have strengthened their systems. It is eating up virtually

every cent we have.

My DH has always had a fairly lousy memory, poor digestion and gets

sick fairly easily for as long as I've known him. I don't know if

his father had amalgams, but he had a major heart attack with a

quadruple by-pass before age 60 and died with (from?) Alzheimer's

disease. I think my DH has a pretty high risk of following in his

dad's footsteps health-wise, but we probably won't be able to afford

to remove his fillings for a year or two or maybe more.

Does anyone know what kind of supplements he can take to help his

body offset the ongoing mercury exposure (without causing them to

deteriorate like a chelator would)?
