Guest guest
> : > I would think then thatmy son has yeast issues as well. Besides the stimming/stacking, he has been SO VERY CALM and tuned in, happy and affectiopnate, and still great and better verbal approximations. Very playful with our doggie also, and us of course. The pictures he took a few days ago show a totally different child - not an agonized face, looking straight into the camera and smiling :-) Great! > : > Would you please look over the list of ingredients and answer a few of my questions before I'd start giving it to him please? I really appreciate your help on this.... > What I have is a trial dose. It's a mixture of the things below: > olive leaf extract 200mg This can actually *cause* yeast, if it is eliminating virus issues. > pau d'arco extract 200 mg > goldenseal extract 100mg I don't know much about these. > caprilyc acid 100mg This was *moderately* effective for yeast for my kids. > biotin 900 mcg Very helpful for yeast issues for my kids, until they no longer needed it. > vitamin c 500 mg My son behaved better when he had this, but I don't know if it was because he was seriously deficient, or if it was addressing the yeast. It does help address virus issues. > oregano 100 mg Oil of oregano helps with yeast [and bacteria] but my son never tolerated it. It is high phenol. > cranberry extract 25 mg This helps with bacteria issues here. It is probably added to keep the bacteria under control. It is high phenol. > and selenium 70 mcg I don't remember this helping with yeast at all. It did help my son with several issues, and in fact I know people who use it as a chelator, but I don't know about it helping with yeast. > they recommend that you give 1/2 teaspoon daily in red grape juice or other tart liquid The red grape juice would be high phenol. With those ingredients, it would definitely be strong tasting. I would give this as a capsule, not as a liquid. > how does this dosage sound to you? Seems okay. > do you foresee any issues with a mixture of so many things for my son? what i mean, he may be tolerating one thing better than another, and how would we know which one it is of it's a mixture? This is why I never gave " mixtures " to my son, he would invariably not tolerate something, and I would have to throw away the whole thing. But if you have a trial size sample, you can certainly try it. Give it with No-Fenol enzyme, if your child has phenol issues. >> do you think it's probaby/possible/likely that he would have a hard time tolerating this mix or that does not happen a lot, in your experience? Not sure. Several kids are like mine and it is best to give things one at a time. However, I do know quite a few kids who do just fine with Yeast Aid. > should i give it as one dose or split it up to give 2 or three times a day? I would start by giving a half dose in the morning. If he tolerates it okay, then give the other half dose in the mid-afternoon. > is it a good idea to start it at bedtime, or after school rather than in the morning? which would be the best to do? In the morning, on a weekend day. > what kind of reactions should I look out for? Intolerance reaction, yeast die off reaction, phenol reaction. > You have also advised that I give him another probitic in addition to Culturelle - what would you recommend? Which one? And where can I obtain it? I get mine at my local health food store. It contains milk products, so I don't know if you would be interested. Guest guest
Dana, thanks for taking the time, again :-) > olive leaf extract 200mg This can actually *cause* yeast, if it is eliminating virus issues. This could explain then why my son may have developed thrush in his mouth on the 3rd day... bit got better this morning though. Still touching the inside of his mouth. D: With those ingredients, it would definitely be strong tasting. I would give this as a capsule, not as a liquid. A: it is s trong taste but I bribe him, mix it in with grape juice and he takes it like an angel. bless his heart... Phonol issues - he was treated with NAET for everything so he really shouldn't have intolerances any more but I understand these things can re-develop again, right? I ordered two types of enzymes from Houstoni or whatever, but not the No-phenol. Maybe he won't need it for the above reasons. In theory, he should not have intolerances to anything any more, but perhaps we will have him tested at his next appointmnet thourhg muscle testing D: This is why I never gave " mixtures " to my son, he would invariably not tolerate something, and I would have to throw away the whole thing. A: I see why you don't give mixtures. Also, the ingredients do not only address yeast, but viruses and some bacteria as well, besed on your comments in the previous mail. So which one is an issue and which isn't? Good question to ask... and at this point probably impossible to answer with certainity D: But if you have a trial size sample, you can certainly try it. Give it with No-Fenol enzyme, if your child has phenol issues. A: yeah, I will try the trial size, with half the dose in the morning, and perhaps using onother juice to mask it thanks so much for your input again :-) --------------------------------- Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Guest guest
We've had success using a recipe for mouth yeast. It's actually a 'toothpaste' recipe: 5 tsp baking soda with 5 gtts oil of oregano, mix well. Just dip the toothbrush in it and brush away. Does not taste as bad as it sounds. It cleared sore spots with 24 hours. We've been using it periodically for maintenance, but not brushing all the time with it. > > Dana, thanks for taking the time, again :-) > > > olive leaf extract 200mg > > This can actually *cause* yeast, if it is eliminating virus issues. > > This could explain then why my son may have developed thrush in his mouth on the 3rd day... bit got better this morning though. NAET can " wear off " . I don't know the exact mechanism, but I have read that written by several people who have done NAET. Also, phenol issues are not really " intolerances " . It is an inability of the body to process the phenols into antioxidants. So I don't know that NAET would address it, maybe it only addresses the food intolerances?
