Guest guest
, A hair test from Doctor's Data can give you lots of info. There is help on line here, too, with interpretation. You can order yourself through www.directlabs.com. Mention of autism gives you a small discount. Many of us with sick children are finding the same family patterns. > > First post, I have been reading and learning for a few months, I am > reading Andy's book and have a 4 yr old PDD-NOS son and a 2 yr old dd > that we have some concerns about. Guest guest
How about Jeff Bradstreet, MD in FL? He is one of the best DANs! out there. http://www.autismwebsite.com/ari-lists/us/Jeff_Bradstreet_%20M.D.,%20F.A.A.F.P..\ html Jackie---- ----- Original Message ----- > First post, I have been reading and learning for a few months, I am > reading Andy's book and have a 4 yr old PDD-NOS son and a 2 yr old dd > that we have some concerns about. Guest guest
You can order a DDI hair elements test on your own through DLS. If you mention this group they'll give you a discount. I think you can order some of the other DDI tests through DLS as well. How many mercury amalgam dental fillings does your husband have? Guest guest
, Consider trying Houston enzymes and dairy-free probiotics.. S S First post, I have been reading and learning for a few months, I am
reading Andy's book and have a 4 yr old PDD-NOS son and a 2 yr old dd
that we have some concerns about. But I am asking about my dh...as we
learn more (just started this whole journey in June) we are finding
that we think some major gut issues/possible mercury issues are going
on with my dh. We have had great tests run on our ds, and we want
some of the same things done for my dh. Our DAN won't do them, she is
a ped and hasn't been able to give us any idea of where to go. Does
anyone have any ideas? We live in northern florida, but are willing
to travel. We have researched on the internet and found that maybe a
DO would be able to help us? We are feeling a bit overwhelmed...My dh
has been sick with some type of autoimmune problem for two years. has
been tested for all kinds of stuff (colonoscopy, mono, has epstein
barr virus, ibs, they thought he might be a celiac but came back
negative) they really don't know what is wrong. He is having major
allergy reactions (where his hands and feet tingle--so nervous system
reactions to allergens). He had allergy shots as a child in the 70's
and then a nother round about 3 years ago. So we just don't know
where to turn and you all seem to have a great deal of knowledge:-)
Thank you for helping,

_______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Guest guest
I didn't follow the whole thread so someone may have suggested this already but Dr. Cave is in Baton Rouge. She has been treating both adults and children for what you describe for longer than most of the DANs out there. We love her for my daughter and, little by little, she is helping al of us (ie myself my husband and my infant son) figure somethings out about our health. Guest guest
I guess I think there probably isn't a 'perfect' doctor out there, you know? What you'd be looking for is someone who understands the complexity of these issues, and is willing to test. You can do the ALA yourself; and I've also heard Bradstreet doesn't 'believe' in the hair test so you can do that on your own too. Doesn't mean he isn't a good doctor, just means he may have a few blind spots. Just my opinion Josie (who sees Dr. Cave and loves her but isn't sure she agrees with how she chelates - and doesn't see Bradstreet but hears he is terrific) Message: 7 Date: Sun, 12 Feb 2006 15:12:18 -0000 From: " lanellici " <lanellici@...> Subject: Re: DAN! Guest guest
My opinion... A few of the people on this board need to get together, open a practice and be the best source of information out there. You guys would make a fortune!!! Okay really, what I am doing is using doctors only for what I need them for. They used me long enough, now it's my turn. I have a chiropractor, a homeopath, and maybe a doctor on board (haven't contacted her yet, just found out about her). I go to the chiro for certain things but not others. He has been very helpful but I don't agree with his chelation views. I go to the homeopath for her views on homeopathic remedies. The doctor I will contact if I need something from her. My chiro can order tests so that will soon be helpful. Then there is my beloved computer, thinking to name him ...! This list and a couple others I am on are invaluable!!!!! Some of the people here I almost feel like I know now. They are as precious to me as a family member. They are always here for advice, opinions, support and even sometimes just to tell you to get a grip! I love it as that is what I would expect out of a real friend. I have learned SO much from reading this list, and have saved TONS of posts. Long story short, you don't always need a doctor. Getting information from who knows best has been most helpful for me. You wouldn't ask a man how labor feels...just like you also wouldn't ask someone who had never been around a child how to get one to sleep who has colic. You ask a woman who has been in labor and a parent of a baby with colic. Picking and choosing my help and resources has really worked well for me. Okay, not so short...sorry!
