Guest guest
We have done about 4 rounds of ALA with 3 on 4 off td dmps dosing. Too early to tell if the ALA is benefiting him, as we did 2 rounds then took a 2 wk. break (yeast flare ups and he was sick w/fever one wknd.) and just did another one last wknd. We are skipping this wknd. and will continue with a 3/11 ALA schedule while doing td dmps every wknd. I think a few folks are using this schedule. -- In , " highdald " <storkandmore@p...> wrote: > > I was surprised to hear parents still discussing ALA. Guest guest
Regardless, ALA is a powerful antioxidant; something that can benefit our children. Guest guest
Bruce, Here are some things that come to my mind. DAN! had also decided that challenge tests were a great idea, but now some DAN docs have started to change their minds. Boyd Haley is apparently working on some superduper chelator--ALA. A number of people on this list have chelated themselves with ALA only. From everything I've read Andy's chelation protocol has been as accurate as can be. If he believes that it does cross the BBB that's what I tend to believe too. Even if he turns out to be wrong, it is still a chelator. One that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg, and one that acts as a powerful antioxidant and liver support for my son. DMSA/ALA are working wonderfully with my kid. If someone were to come up with solid evidence that something else definitely did cross the BBB I would change. Until then, ALA seems to be the best chance my kid's brain has. Guest guest
DAN docs can't " decide " what does and doesn't cross the BBB. They may have determined that they can't make much profit off it since it's availabe OTC... DAN is not always correct. > Anyway, assuming it is benefital in assisting chelators, what about > using it with TD-DMPS? My kids are fully chelated with ALA and selenium. At the end of ALA chelation, they tolerated all foods, and no longer had gut yeast issues. They also tolerated the supplements they needed to eliminate all their other issues. ALA was wonderful for my kids, no matter what it actually did. Dana
