Guest guest
Thank you for your replies, Lila and Anita, Lila, my son's hair lead is 24.5 (acceptable on this test is 1.5)!!!! Anita, where in Canada are you? We are in alberta, Crowsnest Pass, and that's what I am finding too- no proper lead inspectors! I am shocked that this is actually happening... Our house is old, but there are older houses around in a much worse shape... we don't have any flaky paint or anything like that... i had no idea that there could be lead in varnishes too... or in our hot water radiators... the lead test kit that i got cannot be used on metal nor on wood, so we can't really trust the results. i feel like selling our lovely house and hiding in some condo... not really an option where we live... really need some words of hope- chelation works, doesn't it? and there is a good chance that having caught this early we should be able to prevent major damage, wouldn't you say? Thank you again, tanya > > > > hi everyone, > > > > we are totally new to all of this and i desperately need help. > > > > Nico, my 14 month old son has a lot of health issues- he has Cystic > > Fibrosis (CF). most of his symptoms are GI. he is on enzymes because he > > is pancreatic insufficient. we live in an old house, so I was concerned > > about lead exposure and got his hair tested... Guest guest
This is actually good to see high levels in hair, it means that is what is being excreted out. I would be more worried about the metals that measured low meaning they are not being excreted out. Have a doctor measure glutathione levels, without enough your body cannot get rid of free-radicals, which includes metals. > > > > > > hi everyone, > > > > > > we are totally new to all of this and i desperately need help. > > > > > > Nico, my 14 month old son has a lot of health issues- he has > Cystic > > > Fibrosis (CF). most of his symptoms are GI. he is on enzymes > because he > > > is pancreatic insufficient. we live in an old house, so I was > concerned > > > about lead exposure and got his hair tested... Guest guest
Gotta jump in here. For lead, I believe the hair is a good indicator of body burden. This little boy's body is burdened. Worry about that lead, too. Guest guest
Do old houses have lead pipes? Can the hair levels of lead be artificially elevated in children from lead in the water, or is that issue just for adults who use hair dyes and other products that historically contained lead? Guest guest
, Yes, I agree that my son was excreting lead which is good. We were concerned about where he was getting the exposure, however. We do live in an old 100+ house. Dr. McCandless wanted to address the lead issue prior to chelating for mercury, thus the use of Authia cream. The local health dept. wasn't concerned because his blood levels were low. They never heard of the hair tests and would not come out and inspect on that basis. One source of lead I haven't seen mentioned is the little stained glass suncatchers and candleholders that many people have. My son never seems to be able to stay awake in church and I've often wondered about all those stained glass windows? Guest guest
I agree that your son's levels are astronomical, but as mentioned by someone else, it does mean that your son IS excreting lead. I'd be worried about where he is getting it from...plastic miniblinds, stained glass, paint, house dust, water pipes, etc. The heath dept. lady was concerned that if I began chelating my son, that he would become a " magnet for lead " according to her. Lila > Lila, my son's hair lead is 24.5 (acceptable on this test is 1.5)!!!!
Guest guest
Other exposures to lead can come from old blinds, certain vinyl lunchboxes and going to the car races. I read that they still use leaded gas. Living near such a place could also mean higher amounts in the air. Good that it is coming out of his body though. Maybe after chelation if you are still worried about current exposures you could test after you were sure the effects of the chelation are gone. Can you get the test kits yourself? I think I read that they are available from places like Home Depot. Others were talking about getting them to test their lunchboxes recently. Speaking of that, did you see the postings about the lunchboxes? That may have been a different group, I get them confused sometimes. Turns out a lot of vinyl lunchboxes have high level of lead in them. Yell if you didn't see it, I likely still have it. I am maybe leaving soon for the hurricane so if it takes me a couple days I am sorry. Someone else may have it as well. Take care and glad that the lead is leaving that baby of yours! Guest guest
DMSA chelates lead, but please consider using it on Andy's protocol. Check the archives as folks have recently posted that some lunch boxes were found to have lead and some dishes. The lead paint is on the exterior of the radiators. Someone posted a place in the UK that sells lead-free radiator paint. I'll post a link. Guest guest
If you can get the book " Turning Lead into Gold " . It was written by a canadian nurse and she chelated her sons that had lead poisoning. She had info about where to go in Canada and studies on certain areas (I believe it was B.C). Our son also had high lead. Our source was our dinnerware that we purchased at a local Mervyns dept store. Never would have thought that plates I purchased here in the states would have lead...... Email with any questions. Best to you!
