Guest guest
KATHY - i feel soooooo blessed, that when i took LDN with ULTRAM, (for pain) - that i did not also die in my sleep!! it had me sooooooo drugged, i could not keep my eyes open (literally)!! i've read that LDN usually diminishes the pain killer; but, in my case it potentiated (became EXTREMELY potent)!!! I could have done the same thing - slept myself into another world - literally!!! thanx for sharing that story!! it makes me even more determined NOT TO EVER use ultram, as long as i use LDN!!! marshiris@...Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com. Guest guest
Thanks for the warning... [low dose naltrexone] ULTRAM off topic I thought this was important enough to share with the entire group as it may save a life. We were told by a very well known orthopedic surgeon that Ultram is bad news. It made my husband feel very high and compulsive. A friend of ours actually went into an epileptic seizure while taking this drug with no history of epilepsy. In addition to this, an acquaintance of mine was grieving overthe loss of her 27 year old pal. She informed me he was taking a narcotic that wasn't really a narcotic. I asked her if it was Ultram. She replied "OH my God, that was it!" He took one and died in his sleep along with half a Zanax. (this was the story relayed to me) Now does anyone want to take LDN with this drug? It is safer to wait 24 hours and do an authentic opiate derivative. Best of Health to Everyone Kathy No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
I haven't been here in a good while but I've been on LDN since Dec. 2004. I came here today to post a question about Ultram and found this post. I was also prescribed Ultram and haven't taken it regularly BUT I had strange episodes of like blacking out. Even had to pull off the road but I also had some feelings like that before in the past but more often after Ultram. Actually, I wonder if they are seizures and maybe the Ultram made it worse. I normally do research on meds and ETC. on the net but I must have missed reading much on Ultram and I thought I was taking an anti-inflammatory. I recently read more on this drug and thought Holy Crap! and I know LDN might block pain meds also. I wonder if the Ultram has made me feel like that on it's own or maybe the LDN and Ultram. It really didn't do all that much for me with pain and I recently took some to see if it would help a horrible migraine b/c I ran out of migraine meds which are dangerous to take also. Just what was it that killed the person that took Ultram when he died in his sleep? Was it the Zanax and Ultram mixed or did the seizure kill him or what? Seems I read you do not take drugs like Zanax with Ultram. What pisses me off more than anything is when I called my neuro back in Jan. this year and left a message about feeling like blacking out, NOBODY called me back and when I went in in Feb. for followup, NOBODY addressed it even when I mentioned it I was looked at BLANKLY. Here I am having what my Neuro calls Seizure LIKE symptoms in the past and they give me meds that can cause them!! I started wondering if there was a link to the Ultram. I have no offical diagnoses of MS but have those type symptoms and one brain lesion and LDN helped me a lot but I think my symptoms and lesion are from Toxic Mold exposure and who knows what else. Long story I posted about one time or another but out of mold exposure now but still have some symptoms and things I deal with daily and plan to take LDN forever. I also had some new symptoms start after LDN which I think was from the mold exposure and my body couldn't take anymore mycotoxins. Thanks for posting b/c you reinforced what I was thinking about this drug! Guest guest
Rhonda and Marshis and whomever else was helped by my post, I'm very glad it was useful to you. I don't know if anyone will ever know what killed that young man. I don't think it is so much the LDN and Ultram together as Ultram is just a dangerous drug by itself. Combined with other drugs, synergistically, it can have devastating consequences. I have heard too many anecdotal stories to ever take that drug. I am sure it would probably land me in the ER. Guest guest
KATHY - it was a most helpful message!! will not be taking ULTRAM ever again!! and, to think i've been taking it off & on since 1994!!!! had wrenched my back; and after heat therapy and exercise, that is the drug i ended with, for the additional pain!! even with the crohn's pain, my gastro dr. ok'd it!! but, he wouldn't ok my taking LDN!! GO FIGURE!!! the whole system stinks!! do they, or do they not want their patients to get well? from what i read, the entire health -care system (doctors included), is in trouble!! cannot trust anything THEY say, nor anything THEY prescribe!! we must be active in our own care, or suffer the consequences for trusting others with our lives!! we must research meds before taking them!! then, research them again!!!! think of all the meds that have been taken off the market AFTER a certain number of deaths have occurred!! and, remember, it has to hit a certain number before THEY consider it a danger to the public!!! who wants to be in that number?? KEEP SEARCHING!!! TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN TAKING CARE OF YOUR OWN HEALTH!! MARSHIRISGet a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.
Guest guest
You are right on that part! One time I asked what causes something and the nurse said we don't focus on that we just treat it. If you can get away from what is causing a symptom you won't need to treat it and may not keep progressing either. They actually offered me an antidepressant for the burn/throb all over pain I had and I said NO way. I found the LDN and it took that burn/throb pain away immediately. If I hadn't kept on trying to help myself and finding out what is attacking me, I'd probably be bedridden now or worse. I think the docs do not like we have access to the internet now and can help ourselves some and get info and not leave out lives in their hands.
