Guest guest
Hi Pepino, I live in Canada and am currently taking the LDN. I have had excellent experience with LDN for HS. I started the LDN initually for MS and found that my lesions were shrinking! They are almost gone!!! I must warn you though that LDN can bring out latent viruses. In my case it brought out Lyme disease. Now that in itself is kinda good news as it showed me that my MS was really Lyme disease. I feel its another plus for the LDN as the tests in the U.S and Canada show too many false positives. I am warning you about this latent virus thing so you don't think its side effects from the LDN. I know I blamed it at first. I just couldn't understand what was happening to me. Awful depression and mood swings. So just be aware that it could happen. There have been many studies done with LDN and Chrons all favourable. I am copying part of an email that I sent to someone else with HS. It will show you where to get the compounding done. <snip Its called Low dose Naltrexone or LDN for short. Its primarily used for substance abuse at a higher dose. I started it for my MS and it worked great at first. Its known to bring on latent viruses and in my case Lyme. I am hoping because you already suffer from Lyme it won't cause problems for you. You need a prescription for it. Argue with a Doc. that its not going to hurt you at such a low dose. It also needs to be specially compounded by a pharmacy that does compounding. I get mine here http://www.glebe-apothecary.com/ "Note this pharmacy is in Ottawa but they mail out all over" There is alsoanother filler ut it escapes me now. These guys are familiar with advicel for a filler. I use advce;ls a filler. They also deliver. Just make sure to ask them you want advicel as a filler. "note just don't use calcium carbonate it produces a slow release and you want a fast release" Here is the LDN webpage http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/ldn_and_ai.htm Make sure you take it during the time indicated. I know this sounds weird but it really works for the HS. It has cleared all of mine up but one. "update since this latter was written, they are all gone! I hope this helps. Take Care >> Hi - I am so glad to see a good response to LDN therapy for a variety of health problems. I have Crohn's and am currently gathering info using LDN as therapy. I am amazed at the young man who after only 2 days is already feeling well enough to sit through a game with his sister!!! Continued good luck with he therapy for him and others.> I have crohn's and hidradenitis suppurativa (more commonly referred to as HS - a skin condition) - many ppl with crohns have manifestations on the skin in the form of lesions.> I will be approaching my doctor about using the LDN as a therapy for the crhons and hopefully I will see some benefit and relief from the HS as I feel it is more debilitating then the crohn's itself.> I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with using LDN for HS?> I also need to know where I can find a dependable compounding drug store - preferable in Alta or BC. I understand it is very very important that the compounding agent be a specific additive such as Advicel. What is this? I could not find it in any google search i did.> Please share any info you feel I should research - I have been to the LDN website and found it a great sourse of info.> Thank you in advance and please continue to share you information - hopefully I can share some one day> > > ---------------------------------> Be smarter than spam. Guest guest
Hi Noreene, About a year ago asked me if I had ever been tested for Lyme. Fed up that everyone was telling us that we were wrong to have mood swings and depression on the LDN, I went off it. I did more reading and really looked into Lyme. I heard 's question in the back of my mind, so I decided to get tested for Lyme, it was positive. Everyone should at Igenex because Lyme is very wide spread. Its all over and they are finally learning its in various parts of Canada, altho docs will disagree. You can go here to read up on it: www.canylyme.com Then I started reading here and saw that the LDN can also bring out a latent herpes virus. Someone was talking about it. There was also a connection to latent viruses found by Dr. MaCandless (sp?) Whhich I hope can send me her email addy again as I lost it . Take Care, >> Can anyone expand on LDN bringing out latent viruses? I have never > heard of this before.>
Guest guest
Thanks, I'll join the site! I find the LDN to be great for my immunity and it has kept the opportunistic diseases away but I have noticed that the old familiar chronic fatigue is slowing creeping back. Since I have dealth with this for over thirty years, I feel that there must be some underlying problem that is not be diagnosed. Has anyone had similiar experiences with this?
