Guest guest
We are about to do mHBOT in two months. Pretty " excited " Been doing Boimed with my 7yr old son for over 4 years now. He is getting better every day. Diet/supps/Mb12's everything else except Antiviral, currently chelating Andy Cutler Low dose protocol (Almost one year now) We are still gaining ground with every round, always seeing improvements. We will be continuing chelation at least for another year as I see it. Now since I have come on board with HBOT I have asked a few opinions from doctors and spoken with a few who run clinics, ect… but never had asked amongst us parents. I was wondering what most of you who HAVE (chelated Rx style) or are currently chelating. What may be your opinions and /or Experience with wanting to move forward with HBOT while chelating? Or stop the rounds all together and do a series of 40 dives than continue a chelation protocol? I know this is still controversial don't worry opinions are well respected upon Bio parents. The reason for asking from what I have heard is it is BEST to have NOT chelated or Chelate first before implementing HBOT. (Rule of thumb at least 6 month's prior) I know this is not exhausted and is all opinion some docs say its not good to repair some areas in the brain make new connections only to move some Hg around in the brain. (New areas that have woken up Best to stay away). Some say don't matter (well that's them) I kinda lean towards the not do view and am stuck if I should stop chelation while undergoing mHBOT treatments with my son. While oxygen may only be innocent, HG is not and I am a firm believer that the chelator we are using DOES cross the BBB (another controversial subject) See I believe that we are getting Hg out of my son's brain mobilizing this and excreting it out of his Body. I see my child everyday and have been treating him for 4 years now. Like most of you have done an noticed with interventions, If it has brought your child back from a world of isolation. No one can tell you that is not true. Any way Please share your thoughts /experience/ opinions. I have come to trust parent's guts and instinct more than any text book . Guest guest
there is an hbot list group that is really good for questions such as this. my son's DAN doc wants him to do the dives but i will wait until we have more chelation sessions under our belt (it has only been 4 mos). we are also attacking the viruses pretty hard now. dont want to add too much. vicki kenny V <KEN@...> wrote: We are about to do mHBOT in two months. Guest guest
We had been chelating since 2000, first oral dmsa, then td-dmps since 8/04 all with improvements though slow. We did two weeks of hbot in November and got in two sessions per day and about 40 hours total. By the end of the second week my son's behaviors deteriorated rapidly. Much aggression, sib, tantrums, screaming etc. I think now that it was too much hbt too fast. It's probably much more effective being spread out a few days per week for a few months. jmo n a message dated 2/8/2006 10:23:10 A.M. Guest guest
Here is the link to the HBOT Autism group -- very helpful if you want to add HBOT to your child's treatment. Guest guest
I am having HBOT treatment performed BEFORE chelation. My son, 5 yo, ASD started the DAN protocal in December of last year -- methyl MB-12, nutrients, GF/CF diet. We are working our way towards chelation. We did start HBOT on Feb 3rd -- a hard chamber, 100% O2 at 1.5 ATA. We plan to do this for 40 dives, take a break and continue in a soft chamber (40% O2). We plan to do chelation with HBOT. There appear to be no rules for this. I do not want to wait for my son to be ready for chelation before HBOT. So far, so good with HBOT. kenny V <KEN@...> wrote: On them awaiting responses. Guest guest
, What were the particulars of the HBOT you were using -- was it 100% O2 at 1.5 ATA? Most parents I have spoken to do 100% O2 at 1.5 ATA for 40 dives -- 1 dive/day but 5 days per week. The most difficult part is getting to the HBOT facility that often! Guest guest
We have never done chelation with drugs. We have done well over 1,000 treatments in a hyperbaric chamber at 1.5 to 1.7 using 100% oxygen since 2000. We have seen great results. Went from few words to complete sentences. Understanding soared. Rose [ ] Re: Are you doing chelation and Hbot On them awaiting responses. IN fact we are waiting For Andy's reply as well.
