You can also chelate very well with ALA-only (at least when you cannot afford DMSA). Valentina
Guest guest
--- I began on ALA this weekend again. One of the reasons I have not resumed is bc I, myself have gone downhill, and cannot focus, concentrate, remember, etc. This all became worse when a dentisit filled my wisdom teeth w/...you guessed it, amalgam...so they would be easier to pull. This was around the time(2001) I began chelating with Dmsa..and I have gone downhill since..also feeling very overwhelmed being the only income source, and that only being part time because of 's school hours. I want to get on a regular weekend schedule with all my kids again. My oldest daughter has been pretty depressed, crying for unknown reasons, etc. I am thinking metals may have something to do with it, I suspect yeast also. She also has very sweaty hands and feet. 's twin sister has sensory issues... What a MESS! I am currently LITERALLY living hand to mouth, but have been fortunate to find a company willing to help me out. I also have found a company that is very reasonable in prices. Guest guest
Yes, but most of it comes out in the feces. Believe me, we ran both tests several years ago and the difference was amazing! Guest guest
Anyone know this for sure? Even if it were true that Ala excretes mercury through both stool and urine you would only be getting half the picture by testing one, if you happen to " catch " it, that is. I do believe that Ala excretes mercury " primarily " through the stool, dmsa/dmps through the urine. [ ] Re: Urine toxic metals test I've read that ALA excretes metals through both feces and urine. Guest guest
Do you need a doctor to request the urine and feces tests from DDI or can you obtain it yourself? If so, how? Thanks. - [ ] Re: Urine toxic metals test I've read that ALA excretes metals through both feces and urine. Jutta > > I was told the day after the round would be the best. So, if ALA excretes through the > feces wouldn't I expect to see more coming out in the feces? I had read that ALA excreted thru the BM. However, in chelating myself, I have recently noticed very sore kidneys on round. I have taken breaks, reduced the dose, changed the protocol, etc, and still my kidneys get really sore when I take ALA. So if it excretes primarily thru the BM, I must have a lot of metal coming out in the BM, because it sure feels like a lot is coming out thru my kidneys also. Guest guest
This sounds like potential kidney damage.... Are you going to continue to chelate with ALA Dana? Guest guest
> Dana your comment has me quite intrigued, > > Could you please tell me exactly what it was you took, > Entire content thereof, Brand and amount? Well, right now the only multi mineral I have is Thorne PicMins [i ordered a different one which should be here in a few days], but I don't like taking it every day because in my opinion the manganese is too high [and caused toxicity symptoms when I gave it to my #4]. But, I took one of those, plus magnesium and potassium. Plus an adult multi that I take, that has selenium, iodine, and several other minerals. I may do more experimentation and try adding in each mineral separately, I have separate bottles here that I used to experiment with what my son needed, because he was mineral toxic previously but had recently needed a little supplementation. I had been experimenting with dropping all my supplements, to see if maybe my kidneys had become tired of processing out *all* of the things I had been taking. This was probably a reason why the OLE was not entirely effective, because I needed minerals also. Dana

So that is a problem, yes. But the manganese dose caused toxicity for my #4, nasty symptom. > I supplement individually, minerals, vitamins and iodine topically > plus orally and find it works really well, Yes, this is what I usually do, but I took the PicMins, plus others, just to determine if it was some sort of mineral/electrolyte imbalance. And it was, at least partially. So today, I took some individual minerals, instead of the PicMins. > Multi's are bad news often wrong amounts and forms. For my son, multi's have always been bad. I have a few that have worked for me tho. Dana
Guest guest
Hi, I am new in this list; please can you clarify how you can notice that supplement have a toxic effect on brain? Is it a bad behavior of child or some indication showing that? Thanks, Tarek _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Eileen Prunster Sent: Wednesday, February 07, 2007 3:00 AM Subject: [ ] Re: Urine toxic metals test I just had a look at the Pic Mins you mention and would be concerned about the boron it contains, Simply because I tried taking varying amounts of boron for its action in regard to estrogen but found it had a toxic effect on brain function and ended up cutting it out altogether, Even 1mg or less wasn't good tried at every couple of days, I've since found out it's used in rat bait and altho its bound to be at much higher amounts than I took I really feel better off without it despite it having a marked good effect on my female cycle. I supplement individually, minerals, vitamins and iodine topically plus orally and find it works really well, Gives a much clearer pic of any filler issues or interactions with other supps or even as stand alone supps, Multi's are bad news often wrong amounts and forms. Thankyou for that info Dana its very interesting. For my son, behaviors, stims, loss of language, things like that. Dana
