This sounds viral to me. Things to consider: Vit A (retinyl acetate form, you can get a liquid one at Vitacost), olive leaf extract, Virastop. Try cooking with coconut oil. Sorry you and he are having a tough time. Those flus are bad business. Nell
Guest guest
Kim, the flu really knocks a lot out of them, and me also. Really, is hard, but is the normal course of events. Two steps forward, on step backward, etc. Maddening, but the name of the game. I'm sure in a couple of weeks, he'll be back where he was. [ ] depressed over regression, what is going on? Hey everyone: You know I have to be depressed if I am writing on a weekend night. I usually never read/post on the weekends with our crazy life around here..I had to find time though. Most of you know that we began the ALA addition to our chelation protocol on Feb. 3rd. We are doing 3 on/11 off, and dosing ala/dmsa every 3 hours - even at night! We were blown away with the very first dose of the first round, and it just got better and better. We had yeast problems, but learned to calm them down, but never actually beat the yeast, just made it a bit more tolerable. Then, our son got the flu. During the course of that one week flu...our son got NO supplements, no medications, diet was a wreck..no enzymes,,nothing! It was not feasible to give him stuff and have it just come right back out. I'll spare the details. Now that he is feeing better...we started chelation again this weekend. I am doubling up on all of the minerals and anti-yeast supps...but I know he is yeasty. THe worse part is...he is more autistic now than ever before. Seriously, he is an autistic wreck. WHY on earth could we originally see such tremendous gains in those first 2 rounds, now see such regression with this round? Can the flu really do this to our kids? Is this a result of the fact he had no supps for a week? Behaviors include...very repetitive (he does the same action over and over), increased scripting, very emotional - cries if he just drops something, very clingy, almost OCDish....and a ton of verbal/visual stimming. I really dont think it is due to chelation, but what is going on? ANy advice? THanks. Guest guest
Doubling up was probably your first mistake. Here the child probably hasnt eaten and if you gave him ANY supps on an empty stomach...nevermind double...probably caused major stomach ache. When my son was on all the " adult doses " of stuff...he was more autistic than ever too. Sometimes less is more. I would give his body a chance to regain it's strength and then start again slowly. Stomach problems and autistic behavior I beleive go hand in hand. I pulled all my son's stuff to see what would happen and he is doing awesome. I chelated him for only 3 months, he is 2.5. I know as an adult if I take ANYTHING on an empty stomach (including probiotics) I have a headache for the remainder of the day...and that could cause autistic behavior in children as well. Just my opinion...good luck... > > Hey everyone: You know I have to be depressed if I am writing on a > weekend night. Guest guest
Kim, My son is now 11 and it never fails, after a virus, there is sometimes a return of autistic symptoms for a little while, then it is over. With my son, it is the eye blinking tics and some scripting and OCD. I believe viruses/flus/bacterial infections totally stress the nervous system, and knock them off kilter for a bit. IT never lasts, I promise! He will be fine, been there so many times, but with each year of age, he is amazing us with mostly acting " typical " now, Juli --- Cochran <Ladyshrink111@...> wrote: > Kim, the flu really knocks a lot out of them, and me > also. Guest guest
Interestingly, I started NAET again recently. I had been treated for MMR and DPT several years ago and those held. I asked the new practitioner to test virus mix (since I get cold sores from time to time) which she did and I was reactive. Out of curiosity we also tested polio (I was given at least one extra polio vaccine as a child) and I reacted to it. We treated for virus mix yesterday. For my son, giving any minerals at all, with just a few exceptions, caused problems. Try reducing the minerals to a normal dose. > THe worse part is...he is more autistic now than ever before. > Seriously, he is an autistic wreck. I once watched a cold virus go right into my son's brain. In the morning, he looked like a typical kid with a cold, playing with the Tank Engine. Over the next few hours, the cold " went away " and left behind a kid who no longer talked or played, he just lined up the trains and ran his face along the line. Viruses are nasty! Try adding olive leaf extract and/or Virastop enzyme. Also lots of vitamin C. > Behaviors include...very repetitive (he does the same action over and > over), For my son, viral. >>increased scripting, For my son, folic acid deficiency and viral. >> very emotional - cries if he just drops > something, very clingy, almost OCDish.... Guest guest
Nell, thanks for your reply, I cant get this off my mind. Let me ask this also....can viral issues mask gains from chelation? When we initially started ala last month, he was happy, social, talkative, much less autistic. This time when we re-started ala, he shows none of those positive traits. Did having the flu cause the virus to go to his brain, or do what ever a virus does...and mask the gains he would have received? And, I agree about the virastop/OLE, I thought of those also. If he is having a virus thing...how long do we take these to eliminate the viruses? Thanks. Guest guest
Dana: From reading your answer, it sounds like our kids are a lot a like. WHen the cold went to your son's brain, how long did it take you to " get rid of it? " I am assuming that you also took OLE/virastop also? If so, again, how long before the " normal " kid comes back? And, I am laughing...that you also saw the same behaviors and they were all viral to you also. Maybe valtrex isnt such a bad thing? But again...sorry to be repetitive also...how long do I give OLE/virastop before I get my kid back? Thanks, you are amazing! Kim > > I once watched a cold virus go right into my son's brain. Absolutely. > When we > initially started ala last month, he was happy, social, talkative, much > less autistic. This time when we re-started ala, he shows none of > those positive traits. I would guess that same happy social kid is in there, but that viruses are getting in the way. >..how long do we take these to eliminate the > viruses? Well, the first time I did an antiviral treatment (with Virastop) it lasted about 3 months, although benefits were immediate. You can check onibasu for various Virastop/OLE experiences, also Anita made a file on viruses that's very helpful. Nell

Guest guest
> > Dana: From reading your answer, it sounds like our kids are a lot a > like. WHen the cold went to your son's brain, how long did it take > you to " get rid of it? " Well, I gave LOTS of Virastop, OLE, and recently added Lauricidin. For this particular cold, it took maybe 2-3 weeks. But the last time I *thought* all the viruses were gone, I stopped the anti-virals and the next cold he got was this one, and it went right to his brain. So this time, when that cold virus was gone, instead of removing the viral protocol, I *increased* it. Lots of other viruses are coming out. This time [last time was about a year] I have been doing the anti-virals now for 7 months. And just in the last few days, it seems that my son *might* not need as much anti-virals as he has required for the last 7 months. Plus he appears to possibly be fully vitamin C loaded. So I am hopeful. > And, I am laughing...that you also saw the same behaviors and they > were all viral to you also. Maybe valtrex isnt such a bad thing? Valtrex is for herpes virus. I don't think it works on other viruses, but I don't know for sure. You can certainly try it if you want. > But again...sorry to be repetitive also...how long do I give > OLE/virastop before I get my kid back? Depends on how many viruses are sitting there in his body waiting to be eliminated. For my son, they come out one at a time in waves.
