This is out of my league as I know nothing about asthma, but if you

think it is virally induced, maybe you should consider some anti-

viral treatment and/or immune system enhancers?

It was a disaster for my child too, and Flovent wasn't much better.

Steroids made him psychotic and homocidal.

My son is in a similar situation to yours -- chelated for going on 3

years, nearly recovered -- but without the allergies. He used to need

the neb frequently, and every cold led to wheezing. It's hard to say

exactly what did what, but I got him an organic futon (no antimony),

use Bio-Kleen laundry detergent, and only natural-fiber clothing. Also

3 rounds of antiviral treatment (2 Virastop and 1 ProBoost). Now he's

only had one cold since September and no wheezing in a very long time.

Yes, that's a good idea. Any suggestions?

I meant to add that my daughter had coughing/croup every few months

for her first 3 years, and no med helped at all. Finally I took her to

a homeopath and after those remedies she hasn't had those problems

ever again.

Thank you, Nell.

Where do you get those anti-viral treatments? Also, how old is your

child and how much did you give?

Thanks!!

For info on Virastop, try here:

http://www.webmd.com/content/article/116/112276.htm

You can get it at iherb.com

For ProBoost, your best bet is to Froogle for the lowest price. There

was a really wide variation and it's not cheap.

Also, how old is your

> child and how much did you give?

>

He's 7. For ProBoost I gave him 1/2 an envelope 3X/day for 3 weeks.

For Virastop, I started with 1 capsule 4X a day and worked up to 5

capsules 4X/day for at least 3 months. You can read lots of posts

about Virastop if you check onibasu, the search engine on the A-M

homepage. Probably a lot of discussion at as well.

While you're looking you could check out olive leaf extract (OLE)

which works well too, although in n's case it caused a ton of yeast.

My guess is that combination of chelation and antiviral treatment has

regulated his immune system finally. He used to be sick *all the time

-- the usual list of chronic ear infections, unexplained fevers,

random hives and rashes, repeating colds. Not anymore though.

There has been a ton of discussion on this recently on this board.

We are using Virastop and Olive Leaf Extract for the moment. There

are other options too, including lauricidin and elderberry extract

among others. You might go back and read some of these posts and

get a sense of how you might want to approach things. I prefer to

research in onibasu.

I have some experience with this but I am not currently chelating my

asthma child.

Singulair helps with everday allergens. My 8 year old has been on

Singular for a year and a half. He will wheeze everyday from airborne

allergens if we do not give him the Singulair. When it comes to a

virus, Singulair does nothing. If he gets a cold, etc. he wheezes

regardless.

I think all of the asthma medications has screwed him up. He has

anxiety issues, nightmares, attention problems. It is a nightmare. I

do believe he needs to be chelated but I am doing one child at a

time, working on my autistic son first.

I just recently purchased from Native Remedies 4 different herbal

remedies for asthma. BioVent Drops which you give three times a day

to prevent an asthma flare up, Triple Complex Bronchosoothe for when

he has an asthma attack (which is by the way Magnesium tablets that

you put under your tongue) just like what they gave your son, and

AllergiClear and Histadrops for his allergies.

I just started this so I cannot say whether it is working but I am

hopeful to get him off of Singulair. He did have an attack and I gave

him the BronchoSoothe and it opened him up! He felt it working!

Hope this helps - Jeannine

>>>3. Does anyone have any natural remedies they have used

successfully to keep asthma symptoms at bay?

I don't have asthma. I and one of my sons both have a mild form of Cystic

Fibrosis, which is much more serious than asthma (the life expectancy for

the traditional, severe form is 36 and used to be 18 a few decades back --

it is quite deadly). However, it has many of the same problems as asthma

and I and my son were both previously misdiagnosed as having " asthma " . I

was on 8 different drugs about 3 /12 years ago. I now take advil daily and

antihistamines (etc) " as needed " . You can find information on some of the

things I have done here: http://califmichele.com/health/gazelle.html In

particular, you may be most interested in this page:

http://califmichele.com/health/saline.html But I do recommend you also

check out some of the other pages. Cleaning the bedding, removing problem

items from our immediate environment, and similar preventive measures have

been crucial to getting off the drugs and becoming healthier in spite of my

doctor's pronouncement that " people like you don't get well " . (My son has

been free of antibiotics for almost 8 years. He is 18. I have been free of

antibiotics for a little over 2 years. I am 40. When I " meet " other adult

CF patients via online forums, they gush and go " Gosh, I never knew a 40

year old with CF before! " and treat me like I am 150 years old or something.

HTH and good luck,

Anti-virals [OLE and ViraStop], anti-fungals, B vitamins, vitamin C,

and CLO. All of those have kept my asthma away. I have not had to

use my albuterol in almost a year.
