Guest guest
Hi Booshka; That is a lot of pribiotics to avoid... With that, one might well ask, what ones are left which are safe for those with D-Lactate issues? Or better yet, are you aware of a product that contains a freindlier blend? Thanks, Mark > > I was wondering if the kids with the green poop had been taking > probiotics which included the L. Acidophilus strain. Guest guest
Hi Booksha; Sorry I found your post http://www.customprobiotics.com/ (Scroll down to #8). I never thought I'd be paying so much money for a bunch of germs. Eeek. Mark > > I was wondering if the kids with the green poop had been taking > probiotics which included the L. Acidophilus strain. Also, we are using the Candex daily, as preventative maintenance, even though he doesn't show yeast symptoms presently. I don't want to regress on the gut issues b/c everything else then falls apart. He has an evaluation next month for a school we'd really like to get him into. BTW, no noticable gains in the second round of ALA. Actually, he was irritable on Saturday and Sunday morning. But, he was quite a bit calmer Sunday afternoon (and this morning) - similar to the previous weekend. Small " wow " moment yesterday: he said " Bye " to his brother who was going out with his mom. That's a new one. I like it!

We got rid of the constipation but now have the diarrhea all the time (not water, probably what could be classified as " floating " ? I don't know if it floats truly because he doesn't do it in the potty, yet. Good luck witht he eval and I'm glad you have at least some small gains, may there be better rounds ahead. My son required mito cocktail and amino acids to tolerate fats. I wrote about it here http://www.danasview.net/mar05.htm Dana

I guess there are a few things I haven't tried there: CoQ10 and Carnatine. Thanks we should try this " mito cocktail " . Mark

Got a link so I can understand more about it's nutrition significance? Also - looks like there may be different types of lecithin? Thanks! This increase of acetylcholine will restore muscle tone to the intestines preventing impaction that often accompanies a lack of muscle tone exemplified by dilated eyes. It is reported that not all autistic children do well on choline, but this group should. " - Willis S. Langford " Choline is just the choline part and increases methylation and acetylcholine levels. Phosphatidylcholine is choline stuck onto a fatty acid molecule and is used to make cell membranes and increases bile flow. it is also somewhat of a detergent and helps with digesting food. The choline may come off and be used just as regular choline, but phosphatidylcholine does a lot of other stuff too. I'm generally suggesting choline for methyl groups and acetylcholine, and phosphatidylcholine for liver health and bile flow... . .. . " - Cutler " You should (nominally) still be making bile, just not storing it well. You can take taurine + glycine + phosphatidylcholine + milk thistle extract to make more, and you can just take ox bile with your meals to help digest fats. " - Cutler (he suggests dosages of 300-500mg. several times a day for a 40# child)

And just when I thought I had the supplements thing nailed, again I see I am not done. Thank you for the info. Mark
