Guest guest
Hello list mates, my 9 yo son just started his 11th round of ALA today. His hair test did not meet the counting rules but due to his autism dx and symptoms we decided on a trial of chelation anyway and have seen some positive results. For the last few rounds I have not been able to tell a difference anymore and am wondering if a dose increase would make sense. He weighs around 75 lbs and is taking 12.5mg of ALA on Andy's schedule almost every weekend. Also his focus improved at first but has been worse again for the last few weeks. I have two questions about this. 1. Is there a specific supplement I can try for this, and how much? 2. If he had an autoimmune disorder (my dad's very alternative physician told me so years ago, but I can't explain what he based this on) that attacks his brain could any of his chelation supplements make it worse? I know you are not supposed to take Echinacea for instance. My son takes Vitamins A, C, E, and a B-50 pill, selenium, magnesium, calcium, an Omega capsule with different oils in it, milk thistle, all within the dosages recommended by Andy and also 50 mg of Q 10 daily. The Q 10 was added later and I wonder especially if this could be the culprit. Thanks in advance for your help! Jutta
Guest guest
One supplement I forgot to mention is zinc. He takes 20 mg per day in divided doses. Jutta
