Guest guest
Nell, LDN gave us some of our first big " WOWs " , I am sure because it was the first time that the viral issues were addressed at all. Asher's receptive language improved, and his disposition became much sunnier. I wouldn't be surprised if he is on it for the rest of his life. For us it has been a piece of cake the whole way through. No sleeping problems, no adverse reactions, it is cheap. At this point its effects are invisible (or difficult to discern), but at the beginning I was very very pleased. I think I posted on it last fall. I will try to look for it in the onibasu archives when I get a chance. Guest guest
Anne, I've been lurking a the LDN group on and off for a while, but not enough to have a sense of whether LDN is one of those things that gets to the root of a problem and eradicates it (like chelation, antivirals), or moderates things so that the immune system works better temporarily (only as long as the substance is being used), or supports the immune system so that it can heal itself... Okay, I'm rambling, but do you know what I mean? I have a bias against anything that requires a script right now, which is not entirely logical, I know. I don't want to rule out something that could be very good for us, either. The low-cost part is good. :-) thanks René > > Nell, > > LDN gave us some of our first big " WOWs " , I am sure because it was the > first time that the viral issues were addressed at all. I'm wondering if I should pony up for that $$$ Immunosciences panel again. Nell
Guest guest
, The LDN is for low dose naltrexone and I think it is available only by prescription. > > when you say ldn do you mean lauricidin, and is that a perscription, or is it over the counter? > > > > >
Guest guest
I am not anti-Rx. In fact, I am just plain old " pro anything that will be the best thing to help my child. " Do I know that LDN is a better avenue than some other immune system booster? NOPE. Just know it worked for him and I am not stopping it. Guest guest
No specific indication except that I waited until enough people had tried it and posted in the database on the LDN group, saw Asher in there, and decided to try it. Why are people so hung up on the Immunosciences panel? I just had the testing done at the hospital. Am I missing something? Guest guest
Why are people so hung up on the > Immunosciences panel? The DAN I saw briefly recommended it, so does Dr. McCandless. Since the DAN works at the hospital down the street from me, I assumed they must not do it. (OT but I was just there today for a blood draw, gtting free T3 and T4, and plasma cysteine. They acted like no one had ever been tested for these things before. You'd think I'd asked them to check antibodies for Martian sub-atomic vapor or something.) > I just had the testing done at the hospital. Wow. Which viruses did the test cover? Was it expensive? How great this would be! Nell
Guest guest
I am sure we could have done more, but this is what we got that I remember off the top of my head: Herpes I Herpes 2 CMV Epstein Barr Measles Rubella HHV6 And this is in Bloomington, Indiana! Haven't gotten a statement from our insurance about this, so I don't know. When I find out I will try to remember to tell you. If too much time has gone by and I haven't posted, remind me. I forget things easily (that's the 35 going on 70 part of me....) Anne > > Why are people so hung up on the > > Immunosciences panel? > > The DAN I saw briefly recommended it, so does Dr. McCandless. Guest guest
Oh yeah, let me know if you test positive for martian sub-atomic vapor IgG (MSAV). I know this great supplement for it! Guest guest
That is my understanding. I guess that raises the question of why we need the IgG information in the first place.... Anne > > > > Good point. We only got IgG, which shows past infection. > > So what does IgM show? Current infection? > > Nell >
Guest guest
> > That is my understanding. I guess that raises the question of why we > need the IgG information in the first place.... Well, my understanding, if you can call it that, is that viruses never go away. So we're not really *killing them with our antivirals, only suppressing them. Which would mean IgG would still be helpful. I think. Nell
