I just spent a couple hours going through the archives looking for info on

anesthesia for our kids and found a lot of good stuff, but I just wanted to

clarify a few things if anyone can help.

My daughter is apraxic and 3 years, 3 months old. She also has mild hypotonia

resulting in fine and gross motor delays. She has some tooth decay that I'm

concerned about. I know that if I bring her to the dentist they will recommend

repair under anesthesia.

Questions:

I get that nitrous oxide is bad, but is it only bad if she already has a B12

deficiency?

The " -aine " drugs are bad .. does that include lidocaine, which seems so

standard in dental procedures?

Chloral hydrate .. Ok, or not ok?

Anyone out there whose apraxic child has had dental work, what kind of

anesthesia were they under?

Thank you!
