Do you stay in the room during therapy?

I have a question regarding my 5 year old son's private therapists. He has had

one therapist for years who always lets us stay in the room during therapy and I

think I have learned how to work with my son at home due to that. We just

started taking him to another therapist who does prompt who said she feels that

my son won't concentrate if I am in the room. I told her that I'm always in the

room with his other therapist and I'm not comfortable with this. Is this

something to do with prompt? I know my son is not with me when he is at

preschool but I feel I should be able to be with him during private therapy.

Any thoughts? Kate
