Tell her to go to Variety Children's Learning Center (VCLC) of Syosset for an

evaluation. I believe they are on Humphrey Ave. right off of Jericho Turnpike.

My son went there from age 2.5 till he was 5 Amazing school. He had no words

until 3.5 and is now 10 and mainstreamed and pulled out for resource room 1/2

the day. The best decision I have ever made for him education-wise. They are

an amazing group of people and a state of the art facililty. I lived in Suffolk

and had him go to Nassau county just for this school. Best Wishes, Lori

Hi i'm posting this for my sister whom resides in ny she's searching for answers

for her 2.5 yr old son which has maybe 10 simple words, she feels he has low

muscle tone in mouth, I have been working with a great speech therapist in the

fl area that i live by her words you cant make someone walk if there muscles

aren't strong enough and we can't make our little ones talk if their muscles are

weak! I personally feel her son has apraxia but we need to find a good slp in

long island (levittown area) any suggestions please let me know thanks
