Guest guest
My son has experienced absolutely no adverse effects at all. He is not tired or " drugged out " - nor is he hyper or anything like that - in fact his sleeping patterns are exactly the same. There has been no personality change at all except for the OCD thoughts being gone. I think the tranquilizer effect works just for his racing OCD thoughts. If you want to call me, my number is 901-837-9741. Kind Regards, silvafour <thesilvas@...> wrote: Thanx for the info. The Mindsoothe Jr says is has a " natural tranquilizer " . Guest guest
Hey everyone- Well, it has been another eventful week. I went to the doctor's on Tuesday, got blood taken, and I told my doctor I'm taking 6 grains now. She said, " well, if that's what it takes " , which is good but I'm confused because she prescribed me a bunch of supplements that ended up affecting me badly. If anyone knows anything about them that would be great: 1.) Thytrophin PMG - 4 pills per day 2.) Diaplex for diabetes - 1 pill per day 3.) Livaplex - 4 pills per day 4.) Drenamin for ADRENALS - 4 pills per day Well by the end of the first day I started this regime I was sweating a lot and the next day I was like a mess lol. My internal temp. felt like lava. Is this because of the thytrophin which I just realized today has bovine thyroid extract? So confused ... any help would be great. ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
Guest guest
Bovine thyroid? Livaplex is for the liver (bovine?). Drenamin contains the nucleoprotein extracted from fresh frozen adrenal glands. Bovine? Diaplex has in it: 966 mg Betaine hydrochloride, bovine pancreas PMG extract, alfalfa, calcium lactate, buckwheat juice (whole plant), buckwheat (seed), pea (vine) juice, carrot (root), oat flour, beet (leaf) juice, bovine pancreas Cytosol extract, bovine liver, bovine spleen Cytosol extract, ammonium chloride, defatted SOY (bean), pancreatin (3X), beet (root), pepsin (1:10,000), bovine pituitary PMG extract, bovine kidney, bovine prostate, inositol, enzymatically processed Tillandsia usneoides and beet (root), bovine orchic extract, l-cysteine hydrochloride, bovine adrenal Cytosol extract, bovine liver fat extract, and flaxseed oil extract. mmm, that stuff scares me a little bit...are you growing horns, wanting to eat hay, and moo-ing? You felt ok before taking all that stuff? And you feel bad when you take that stuff? My ex-naturopath prescribed digestive enzymes, b-complex, and a bunch of other stuff and I went from feeling WOWEE to feeling like warmed over dog poop with wild arrythmia. I stopped taking all that stuff and went back to feeling WOWEE! I would think that if someone's doing good on 6 grains of Armour, adding bovine thyroid might unsettle the pot. And all that other stuff? I don't know... You could stop taking it all, and then add one thing at a time to pinpoint the problem med... Guest guest
Sam- Thanks for the post. I took everything last night except for the thytrophin and I feel totally fine. In your opinion will the Drenamin do any good for my adrenals? My doctor is just so anti-steroids, synthetics, etc. and doesn't want to prescribe them whenever possible. Could the thytrophin be good for someone with a slightly sluggish thyroid? Thanks for your help! Bovine thyroid? Livaplex is for the liver (bovine?). Guest guest
your doc sounds interesting. An ND told me to take Drenamin 2 tabs 2X a day Thytropin 1 tab 2X a day both from Standard Process. He wanted me to get off of Armour thyroid and I thought he was a real horse's a$$, but I still take the Standard Process stuff. When I don't take it I miss it. Actually I bought Drenamin at Willner Chemists when I was in NYC. I think you would really love Iodoral, and also I really love steroids maybe ask your doc if she is familiar with Jefferies MD who wrote Safe Uses of Cortisol. Gracia Sam- Thanks for the post. Guest guest
Gracia- Believe me, she is interesting. Fantastic and funny ... I'd recommend her to anyone. Only downside is I have to go to the boondocks of brooklyn to get to her. It is the standard process stuff she's giving me. She is pro-iodine too. She gave both my boyfriend and I iodine. She thinks it would be bennificial to start. I am actually curious to do a trial run but I am literally fearful of the hypo-hell-fatigue. And I think I've picked up on that it is that way until you reach a huge dose? And I almost don't want to find out if it works so well because it is so expensive lol. Gracia, I have no idea how you afford 50 mg a day. I think I'm going to bug her about cortisol at my next appointment. :-) your doc sounds interesting. Guest guest
Sorry to get back to you so late...it was a loooong weekend... Drenamin is another OTC supp that may or may not work for people with weakened adrenals. I've hear more about Isocort than Drenamin, tho, and it's also an adrenal supp. Some folks start on Isocort and if it doesn't to what they want, they graduate to Cortef (cortisol). I've used bovine thyroid (thytropin?) on hypO dogs - for example, one of my Basenjis was thyroidless due to an overdose of rabies vaccine by an idiot vet (soloxin didn't work, Armour was a bit better, but bovine thyroid was the best for her). It's seems to have worked better for them that Armour did. I just don't know if it would work as well as porcine thyroid for humans. Heck, if all I had was a slightly sluggish thyroid, I'd take Iodoral or Lugol's Solution. Sam > > > > Hey everyone- > > Well, it has been another eventful week. Guest guest
Hey Charlie, I have used Wobenzyme and Marcozyme (just about identical and a little less expensive) for years with patients. These are proteolytic enzymes that are really helpful in cleaning up cellular debris in soft tissues and the lymphatic system. I usually suggest 8 tablets 3 times per day – no food for 30-45 min before or after dosing. Check for any history of ulcer and caution the patient to stop use if GI pain develops – almost never an issue. I used this with an 80 year old woman with lymphoedema of 50 years duration in the lower extremities. Her ankles and calves were 2-3x normal. She used 40 tablets of marcozyme per day for 3 months and her legs are now normal and completely free of edema. I also use these enzymes after traumatic injury and it produces a much faster resolution of swelling, bruising, and pain. Marcozyme is from Marco Pharma out of Roseburg. S. Feinberg, D.C. Guest guest
Woebenzyme has been part of my enzyme shelf for a long time. For acute cases it can be excellent and rapid. For my fibros, the Vitalzyme and VitalsymeX seems more effective. They go into a 'four caps twice/day' for 4 - 12 months to tame all that scaring and inflammation debris. Guest guest
What type of seizures is she having? We have found a test that tests the brain hormones called nuerotransmitter test by NeuroScience www.neurorelief.com. I got this test through our naturopathic dr. And we are now testing the second time to see if the levels have gone down. What we found after the first test was that our daughter's brain hormones (seratonin, glutamine, glutamate, gaba, histamine, etc.) were all extremely high therefore it was no wonder she was having seizures. Her brain did not have the ability to calm down. She has gone from 1000+ seizures in a 16hr. timeframe to 3-6. We do not have her on any medication and will never put her on it. We tried and she became worse than before and we are so glad that we did the research to save our daughter. I encourage you to do the same. This is only one test and there are many things a naturopathic dr. Can do. Find a good one we have. Rae Lynne [ ] Supplements? Guest guest
Hi, First of all you might have some problems trying to swallow a regular vitamin. Look for a multi vitamin that is chewable. That is what I did at first. Then as time went on I went to a regular multi vitamin and because I am older I got one that was for my age over 60. Good luck and a great question to ask. I take a probiotic, fish oil > sometimes, yeast flakes sometimes, liver about twice a week, lots of > healthy meats, veggies, eggs, fats including coconut oil, an > occasional HCL pill. +++Hi Kathy. You should not be taking probiotics, and fish oil only contain omega-3, and not vitamins A and D - all 3 nutrients are extremely important for health. If you do not get enough vitamin D from sun exposure (most people don't) you need to take cod liver oil which contains those 3 important nutrients, i.e. omega 3 (EPA plus DHA) and vitamins A and D. > I've been hoping I can just eat my nutrients. I have tried many supplements in the past and frankly I'm sick of them. The supplement companies and the practitioners who subscribe them made a lot of money on me and I'm not sure they were worth a hill of beans. > I am wary of fractionated nutrients, not in their whole state. Like, I feel better about the eggshell calcium because it comes from food that I prepare. Isn't the diet we're shooting for supposed to provide us with what we need? I certainly hope so. +++Unfortunately people with candida are so malnourished they require supplements to help fortify their nutrients and counteract the effects of toxins, poor nutrition, and because our foods are low on nutrients compared to 50 years ago because of the depletion of nutrients in the soil. Also fractionated nutrients, like ascorbic acid (a fraction of vitamin C) have been used by Orthomolecular Physicians for over 60 years to cure cancer, and they also use other supplements to treat many other ailments. In addition, cod liver oil, which is called a supplement, is actually a whole food, and it has been used a very long time - my medical book from the late 1980s perscribes it to all sick people and growing children. Dr. Weston A. Price (around the 1930s) administered cod liver oil and butter oil (look this up on my website) to people who were dying, which brought them back from the brink of death. If I had my druthers, I'd rather get everything I need from foods too, but I don't believe it is practical or possible nowadays. Therefore, it is important that you follow the diet and also take all of the supplements recommended - all of the nutrients work together. This program gets results when people follow it as IS, so it should not be changed or altered so you too can get healthy. Guest guest
Hello, I am newer to this group. My son Levi is four and since my first post and all the great info I recieved, I have him scheduled for an evaluation with the school system. I immediately bought the book Healing the new Childhood Epidemics. I am nearly finished with it and looking forward to seeing what progress we are able to make.I dont plan to start any supplements until after his evaluation. I am a little confused and unfamiliar with all of the supplements and products , which ones are the best, and where to purchase them at. I wonder if anyone could give me a little direction in this area. Thank you so much  Have a Great Day! Robin & Tiny
