Here are my suggestions.

Here are some suggestions that we do to feel better--

1. olive leaf extract- natural antibiotic, anti-viral (wards off colds) and

anti-fungal (yeast). Look for at least " 17-23% pure " .

2. colostrum- super immune builder, made from bovine cows' pre-milk,

excellent also for loosing weight!!!

3. colloidal silver- mixture of silver metal particles in a liquid solution

that supposedly is a natural antibiotic, an immune system booster and a

natural healing property that can relieve pain and suppress the lyme

spirochete.

4. grape seed extract- excellent super anti-oxident, aids in fighting the

free radicals.

5. CoQ10- again an anti-oxident, helps generate energy. Great for heart,

liver and kidney free radical damage.

6. Molybdenum- a trace mineral which aids in ridding the body of yeast and

bacterial die-off from the Herxes.

7. Calcium/magnesium- for bones, and magnesium is to help counteract

twitches, muscle spasms, cramps and general weakness.

8. acidopholius-- A MUST with anybody that is taking antibiotics. The

antibiotics kill ALL the bacteria in the intestinal tract, the acidopholius

puts back the " good " bacteria. If one does not take it, you will suffer with

yeast infections!!!!!

9. B and C vitamins as well as a good multi-vitamin.

10. Purified water is a MUST--at least 8 glasses per day.

11. I personally also find an anti-depressant also helps with pain/mood

swings/anxiety. Kava-kava is a natural for anxiety, but one can take

xanax(Rx) too.

(we do both).

12. Insomnia? we do melatonin from the health food store, or Ambien (Rx)

13. Severe headaches? we take Butalbital (Rx of ferrocet), or Advil.

14. Severe difficulty breathing? we do oxygen from an oxygen tank.

15. the rife machine--I swear by it. Electro-magnetic frequencies zap the

spirochetes.

16. massage therapy, chiropractic, " Aqua bed " --new--it is a hydro-bed that

shoots hot water (104degrees) from underneath you while you are fully

clothed. It does deep tissue massage. IT WORKS!!! I have been herxing like

crazy since doing it!!!!

17. Any exercise whatsoever, even walking. These spirochetes HATE internal

body heat and oxygen.

I had the same question and had the opportunity to ask Brant.

She advised me to take fat burners for six week cycles and then take a a

break to avoid messing too much with the central nervous system. You may or

may not gain a few pounds, but it's best to avoid staying on them for longer

than this. Take a 2-3 week break.

Hi, this is a question for those of you who have successfully transformed

your bodies or really anyone in general more so for the females. Anyways,

do you continue to use the supplements for fat burning and so on even though

you are at your low bf and are content there? Do they make it even lower or

do they just help to maintain. Also does anyone here use the combination of

ephedra and caffine? How have you found it?

There is actually scientific data that shows ephedrine and caffeine

is more effective when used in small amounts for longer periods of

time, as long as 16 weeks.

I continue to use Myoplex Lite shakes and protein powder even though I'm where I want to be. They are pure convenience. I've never used any other supplements.

SaraHi, this is a question for those of you who have successfully transformed your bodies or really anyone in general more so for the females. Anyways, do you continue to use the supplements for fat burning and so on even though you are at your low bf and are content there? Do they make it even lower or do they just help to maintain. Hi Karma,

I am so glad to hear that you are doing all of these good things to nurture

yourself. I am even happier to hear that they are making such a difference for

you.

I have been thinking about sending a copy of the list of supplements that I take

personally to the whole list. Now that you say you feel they are making such a

difference it makes me think that I should. Many of them I have taken for years.

Some I just started a short time ago, but like you, I could tell a difference

very quickly.

I don't know how I would have been able to sleep this past week without the

L-Ornithine. I know that they have really made a difference in helping me get

the sleep my body needs in order to deal with all of this. I do think it is

important to take the L-Lysine and the L-Arginine both at bedtime and again in

the morning to get the best results. I had read that by taking the L-Ornithine

alone that some felt drowsy in the morning. That is not the case if you add the

other two to your menu.

I love the Set-N-Me Free Herbal diet capsules too. I have so many of my Life

Lift people who use them and love them. I have taken them and carried them for

the benefit of my Life Lifters for well over ten years now. I take them daily.

I like the fact that they don't have any of the " speed " ingredients. Instead the

herbs are loaded with B vitamins that help to calm your nerves and help you feel

more relaxed. This is key in having a truly healthy body.

I was so excited when I saw that you carry so many of the supplements I use.

This is going to make it so much easier for me in the future.

I am trying the L-Ornithine, L-Lysine, and L-Arginine with the Colostrum each

morning along with the set-n-me free capsules. I really like the set-n-me free

capsules. I had not given them a fair chance before. Boy do they work well! I

also think you are right about the other capsules in the morning and evening. I

am more rested, and I think I look younger too! Thanks for recommending these

to me. I was already taking the Colostrum, (Thanks Donna), and the L-Ornithine

at bedtime (to get better sleep) but hadn't been taking the others. I also

think my muscles are holding definition better. I am taking the Twin Lab brand

Also, I have been really consistent in drinking at least a gallon of water a

day. Water makes such a huge difference in my progress! :-) I want to be more

consistent in doing a " workout " instead of just doing breaths throughout the

Hi!

Interesting list of supplements -- sure hope it helps. Just wanted to tell

you that I have just recently heard there is oregano in a gel pill form

(called Oreganol) from North American Herbs and Spices. I don't have a number

or website, but you might want to ask at your health store. I haven't had the

chance to look in to it yet, but wanted to pass that along to you. It might

be easier to take.

SInce I deal with Young Living Essential Oils....

I took Oil of Oregano. What you can do is put the drops in a double 00

capsule, which you can purchase from the health food store. They are empty

and you can put a few drops in it, close it and swallow it. Oil of oregano

will burn your tongue and skin, so be careful.

They cost about $4 for a package.

Thanks, Sue...that's really great advice! That will help tremendously with

alot of the liquid stuff that just about makes a person want to gag even when

you're feeling GOOD, let alone when you're sick. Good thinking, and thanks

Hi All,

The type of oregano oil I'm taking is in capsule form, and aside from

having an interesting breath, it doesn't burn in this form. I'm taking

three 400 mg tablets a day. It's supposed to kill just about anything that

isn't " you " , so eventually I will probably have to start taking

acidopholous again. Don't know how acccurate this is, but from a website:

" Oil of oregano is a potent germ killer. Valnet, in his book The

Practice of Aromatherapy, describes how oil of oregano is so strong that it

is capable of sterilizing sewage. Research published in the International

Journal of Food Microbiology found that oil of oregano is an excellent

germicide capable of killing a wide range of fungi and bacteria. According

to the Journal of Applied Nutrition oil of oregano is highly effective for

killing Candida. Researchers in Mexico found it possesses strong

antiparasitic actions, especially against Giardia. As published by Sarer

researchers describe it's antiseptic powers as " remarkable. " "

referencing. My type is made by the natural food store I go to, who,

considering the nutritional guy there, I trust to have good products.

The reason I'm taking the essential fatty acids is because with the

transversal myelitis part of the myelin on my spinal cord has

deteriorated. The borage and flax oil should build it back up. So if

anyone is experiencing neurological symptoms, they might consider taking

this supplement, because it is supposed to help. Lecithin helps to PROTECT

the myelin, additionally, it helps with brain function, especially if you

are suffering from the " brain fog " (which I am definitely experiencing.) I

wish my neurologist had suggested this stuff, but she seems, like most

doctors, to know absolutely nothing about nutrition. Lymes can attack the

myelin sheath in the nervous system, as many of us well know, so it can't

HURT to take these things, at the very least, and essential fatty acids

have long been suggested as a healthy supplement to add to the

diet. Granted, I'm taking a lot, because I really need to build things up

and repair damage, but I don't really think you can take too much, to be

completely honest.

So if anyone else has nerve damage they might want to try it.

How did you find out the myelin on you spinal cord has deteriorated?

According my neurological report where they stick these things everywhere, I

have that in my C-5 area, then there are group of nerves from sciatic nerve

that also has damage. I found thru my LLMD, he had a testing done, they use

pads, instead of the needle pricking, which I surely appreciated.

This part of the Lyme Disease I hate, it so very painful. If I don't do

enough, I hurt a lot, If I do to much, I might as well forget the next

couple of days.

C causes the liver to retain iron which isn't good for it.

I take a men's formula daily vitamin, no iron. Any water soluable

vitamin will be flushed if the dosage is too high, although I

believe vitamin C can cause iron retention. Any fat soluable

vitamin, A or D, can build up to toxic levels if you " Megadose " them.

Here's my big ramble on supplements. It's just my own thoughts and

definitely not the last word, so everybody else feel free to chime in

with what you're taking (or not taking) and why.

Nutrition is 80% of your results, workouts maybe 18%, and supplements

about 2%. So, be sure to keep the supplement thing in perspective. :-)

If you're not eating right and training hard, no magic pill can save

you.

I personally don't recommend fat burners. After several trips to the

cardiology unit with my heart not beating right, I decided they

weren't worth it. I mean sure, I wasn't hungry, but that was because I

was too busy pacing around peeking out the windows, clutching my

chest, and debating whether to call an ambulance. LOL

I've had problems with insomnia, mood swings, paranoia, and heart

palpitations even with ephedra-free supplements. They're still full of

plenty of weird herbal stimulants. Go look up the bizarro side effects

for something like yohimbe which can cause hallucinations, or St.

's Wort which can render birth control pills ineffective.

CLA is pretty iffy in my mind. I've used it for months at a time and

never had it do anything noteworthy. It works great in chickens and

rats but the dramatic muscle gain and fat loss benefits didn't carry

over well to humans. It's best for preserving your lean muscle while

dieting, or for preventing the regain of fat once you've lost it. I

found the results to be so subtle that it wasn't worth taking. Just my

experience.

I like Betagen for muscle recovery. It contains creatine, glutamine,

HMB, and antioxidants. It's not for everybody though. The creatine can

cause an initial gain in scale weight that freaks people out even

though they're gaining lean mass and not fat. Here's the scoop on

I do consider protein powder, meal replacement shakes and bars, and

flax oil to fall under the " 80% nutrition " category, so they can play

a pretty substantial role in your results. Here's an old post about

supplements that I recommend for beginners.

You don't really need any supplements in order to do well. If I were going to

pick 3 for somebody just starting out, they would be whey protein, flax oil, and

Myoplex Lite.

A big tub of whey protein is great because you can use it as your

protein source

for any meal where you're short on time or ideas. Protein shake and oatmeal,

protein shake and fruit - it's just really handy. Plus, you can use it in

recipes for protein pudding, jello, cookies, stuff like that. Most fitness pros

prefer whey over soy for maximum fat loss. I've tried a lot of protein powders,

and chocolate EAS 100% Whey is one of my favorites. It passes my water

test, which means I can drink it plain in nothing but water and not

gag.

14 pills to = 1 tbsp oil) Most of us find that a tablespoon a day reduces our

cravings and helps with fat loss. You can either put it in a shake, take it in a

shot glass with something like grapefruit juice to mask the taste, mix it with

vinegar and seasonings for a salad dressing, or my Fear Factor method - pour it

under my tongue and then gulp water. Recently, I've also discovered ground flax

seeds, which can be sprinkled on salads or cereal. They have to be ground or

they pass through you undigested. I like Barlean's Forti-Flax.

Myoplex and other meal replacements are just convenient. It's a quick, perfectly

balanced meal that doesn't require any thought or preparation. It's easier to

get your six meals in if one or two of them are meal replacement

shakes or bars.

They're not a " must have " though, and you certainly don't need to go through

three a day. Most people will tell you that whole foods are better whenever

possible.

Trim-Spa didn't do much for me... I didn't feel different, I didn't lose

weight, kind of felt like a waste

Hydroxycut worked pretty well. It made my friend jittery but she doesn't

EVER have caffeine and I am addicted to it so it didn't bother me

Lipo-6 is my favorite, I've been using is for awhile, it's definitely a

stimulant, I ususally forget to take 4 a day and end up only taking 2, but

it's a really, really, really, really good appetite suppressent and I like

the energy boost it gives me since I'm not drinking diet soda anymore... And

as far as results go, I don't know really because I'm doing such a

combination of things that it's impossible to pinpoint one thing

Hi! These are just my thoughts.

First, if the psych is selling it, " no. " I'd be more liable to

believe/try something if they recommend it and it's purchased

somewhere else.

Second, looking at the age of your son, 9, and at the level supplied

by some of the " ingredients, " I just think that would be way too

much for a child. I could see an older teen or an adult drinking

this for general, overall health benefits, even me, but not a

child.

Third, I don't think this will help the OCD. And I'm a mom who

likes to try natural/alternatives for most anything. If the idea is

to raise serotonin levels, help with anxiety, there are other things

for that without all the " extra " stuff not needed that is in this

product, and at a more measurable level for a child.

Sorry if this seems too much " to the point " but only have a minute.

The product is interesting though, I'm saving the site just for info

on all the ingredients!

My son takes products from Native Remedies (www.nativeremedies.com) - Mindsoothe

Jr. and PureCalm. He started at 3x day and is down to 1x day. He is doing

fabulous and is completely asymptomatic currently.

Well - how much time do you have to read, LOL! I have so much stuff

saved about OCD!

We used inositol powder for a while. Did great for my son, and has

for some others, but others get no results at all. Some articles on

The above should be helpful as a start maybe, and then I suggest you

research some more for anything you might see to try. The only thing

I've actually tried is the inositol. was too picky an eater

to try modifying diet in any way and he couldn't swallow pills. We

did try 5-HTP once, while he was on the inositol powder and it hyped

him up too much. However, I always tell how " in MA " had

inositol agitate her son and I don't believe 5-HTP did; so we had

opposite effects! Just to point out how people differ, so try just

*one* thing/supplement/change at a time to know what's working or

not! (which I'm sure you know, just had to say it!)
