Guest guest
Hi Everyone-- http://www.cspinet.org/nah/7_98eat.htm Here's an article that I think may be pertinent to what we do here in a sideways sort of way. It's about the psychology of eating and the economics of bad food. It draws parallels between the food industry and the tobacco industry. One of the interesting statistics quoted is that, each year, 425,000 people die from smoking related diseases, yet 300,000 die from diet- related diseases and a sedentary lifestyle. A question that has been lurking in my mind has been how to promote this lifestyle to a larger audience. While I'm trying to figure out all of the details of CR, I'm also trying to think about it so that, not only do I understand it, but so that I can explain it in a clear and concise way to the people around me in so that it can be practiced and functionally understood with nothing more that a high school bio class. I think that only then will the benefits be realized to the public - when a truly healthy lifestyle can be marketed as effectively as Mc . I'd love to hear other people's opinions on this question and the other questions raised by the article. Cheers, Lee
