Guest guest
Colella or any other Okinawan " experts " : In pictures I have seen of the Okinawans, they are not particularly skinny; is this or is this not true? I ask this question because I wonder about some of these guys who are 6 feet tall or more, and weigh 125 pounds or less. Now that we are hearing about osteo among the more severe CR practitioners, perhaps humans weren't meant to go to such extremes without suffering damage to the body or malnutrition? It reminds me of the stories of anorexic patients who are beset with health problems, osteoporosis a prominent problem among anorexics. Is mild CR the way to go, even for the younger among us? As I told Warren, I have started on Evista, a hormone based drug for women past menopause which is supposed to help with osterpenia and osteoporosis. I have gained a few pounds which I was afraid of, as estrogen " encourages " fat. OTOH, perhaps I should look upon this as a GOOD thing. Thanks to whoever can help answer the Okinawan question.
