Guest guest
I also want to add if you go to the Children's section of your library and look for the phonics section, there will actually be books for each sound, even concepts you are trying to teach such as here/there, over/under, etc. Our library has these under Reader, 428.6 HTH! Guest guest
Thanks Maureen! And from the archives here's a list from one of my co founders of Speechville.com Tricia Morin: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BOOK LIST - for targeting certain sounds!! Here is a great listing of children's books that target certain sounds. My son's SLP (the wonderful Hoffmann, CCC-SLP from St. Louis University) would always read to him during his session with a book that corresponded to the sound that we were working on. Sometimes when my son and I were both frustrated with inaccurate sound production during drills at home, we would just curl up with a book that targeted the sound of the week. If my son was really familiar with the book, I would pause at the target word in the sentences and inevitably my son would fill it in. he was practicing the target sound with out even knowing it!
