Hi when my son was little I wondered if he would ever find the words

and be understood. He was recieving intensive speech therapy from the

time he was 4. The progress was painfully slow and I wondered what the

future would hold would be be understood by strangers would he need to

sign forever. But with each small gain from sounds to words to

sentences he finaly reached the his goal of understandable speech at

the age of 13. Now at the age of 17 wow it just keeps getting better

and better. He self advocates and explains his disablity very

confident, independent even calls meetings if he has an issue with a

teacher and yes gets his point across very well. I was his voice for

many years now he has his own voice. My son just don't give up and

always believe they can it just might take a little bit of patience and

hard work. So very proud. Tina C
