Guest guest
Hi All, Here are a few recommendations to watch out for if you are using either flax (seed or oil) and EPA 1) Take your flax seed / flax oil with breakfast and avoid Omega 6 oils as the Omega 6 will inhibit conversion of the Omega 3 from the flax into EPA. Omega 3 V Inhibited by Omega 6 EPA V DHA 2) Watch fibre when taking flax as it may carry some of the Omega 3 away. 3) Take your EPA before lunch & dinner as the EPA will be in the blood sooner than the Omega 6 from the meal and this will help to reduce the amount of dietary Omega 6 in the meal being converted into AA (arachidonic acid). This will also improve the DGLA to AA ratio as DGLA is what AA is made from. Here is the Omega 6 pathway: Omega 6 V GLA V DGLA V Inhibited by EPA AA ======================== Good Health & Long Life, Greg , http://www.ozemail.com.au/~gowatson gowatson@...
