My son ST has him say " Eee ah " in order to get him to say " Eee yah " as

we are working on helping him to say " yes " .

You see he sound like Scooby Doo:

Me: " , do you want a cookie? "

: " Ruh " or " Wuh "

After we get " Eee yah " we add a " sss " which is also hard for him to

produce.

Anyone else have tips on learning the " y " sound specifically for " yes " ?

We've tried nodding and shaking his head but he forgets. Sign language

isn't a good fit since he doesn't have all his fingers and fine motor

movement is hard for him to do.

my son has trouble wiith the y sound too.? he still doesn't say it.? instead of

yes he says less.? always the

" L " is used for the " Y " .? Lo lo, for yo yo etc.? his st also tried the ee ahh

but he says ee la..? he is recently able to say diego instead of dilego (from

the show go diego go).? a few months ago he learned how to make the f sound,

which is awesome!? but he won't automatically use it for his all his f words, ie

four five fish funny.? but still it's a relief he's able to make that sound now

and it's something more to work with.? ofter however, it's not a very natural f

sound and he kind of punches it out and tries to blend it with the rest of the

word.

i'm hoping he'll get the yes down soon.? i have just gotten some y and l cards

with pictures on them from his st.? he is to put the picture in the correct pile

of y's or l's.? it's interesting to me that his st said he had trouble with

that.? i guess it all isn't really clearly distinguished in his mind yet.

i've also noticed a lot of repeating words lately, almost like a stutter.? Esp.

with the word um.? um, um um, he could say it several times before he gets the

sentence out.? Does anyone else's child do this too?? Are they kind of buying

time to figure out how they're going to say what they want to say?? I try not to

give it attention when he does this, but sometimes i'll offer a word only if i

know for sure what he is going to say to help sort of " kick it off " .?

another thing.? i tried another fish oil supp. a chewable gummy one.? we haven't

been able to get the benefit of these supp. in the past b/c of his diarrhea from

them.. and unfortunately he had the same reaction.? i was hoping it would be

different this time it's been well over a year since we last tried.? oh well.
