Guest guest
Welcome, Becky & ! Becky wrote: New research has shown that there > may be a " sweet tooth gene " , if that's so I definatly have it. My suggestion is to go slow and gradually cut down on the sweets. Eventually stop buying and stop making and baking those sweets, or switch to CR smart recipes. (Try making a batch of Sherm's bingeing brownies if you have a lot of time on your hands!) Allow yourself some exceptions -- a special dessert on Sunday, for example. Aim to make the sweets and junk (the occasional Cheeto!) the *exception* rather than the norm. Then enjoy it to the hilt... and you *will* enjoy it more. Last week after my son's violin recital there was a huge table covered with a near-obscene amount of cookies, cakes and chocolate. I sampled a couple confections and, to my surprise, was satisfied not to go back for more. An earlier version of me would have reveled in a sugar high. Good luck and stick with it. Remember the Zen master's words of encouragement: " Seven times down, eight times up. " Dixie
Guest guest
iT'S Early hear and I just had my coffee. I can't believe I am answering this E-mail. You know yeast is the culprit. Also we are flesh and flesh craves Indulgence. We eat such a restrictive diet if we are truly committed to getting better. This means no white flour, no fruit, no sugar in any of it's forms shall pass these lips. Bummer days. It is the holidays and everyone here is celebrating by having cheese and wine and various activities. Holy cow who can resist. Yet I have no interest in people who drink. Again that ugly lack of ability to tolerate other people's short comings. But there are few things, Pediophiles, Tweakers, Murders, that I find intolerable. I don't mean those who " take a little wine for your stomach's sake " . I mean hard core ALCOHOLICS. These people seem to feel the world belongs to them. And now that I think about it, it does. Praise God and pass the amunition. Walk softly carry a big stick. Take names and Kick dragon. And praise his name. I have been listening to Christ Mass music all morning. YES IT IS TREATABLE AND I PRAY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THIS DISEASE TO SEEK HELP. BUT I HAVE WORKED WITH THEM FOR MANY YEARS IN MY NURSING CAREER AND I DON'T BELIEVE THEY THINK THEY 'OWN THE WORLD'. I THINK THEY DON'T THINK THEY FIT IN ANYWHERE IN THIS WORLD ....AND MAYBE THAT IS WHY THEY DRINK. NOT TO MENTION GENETICS ....
