Guest guest
Hi , welcome to the list. Sounds like you have been researching this issue. You may have read Rita Hoffman's letter to the IOM. Here is the link: http://www.vran.org/vaccine/vaccine_ana.asp We also cannot find this adjuvant 65 in use in any current vaccines. Here is a government site that lists patents. http://www.nal.usda.gov/bic/Biotech_Patents/1995patents/05403581.html Suitable adjuvants for the vaccination of subjects include but are not limited to Adjuvant 65 (containing peanut oil, mannide monooleate and aluminum monostearate); mineral gels such as aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate and alum; surfactants such as hexadecylamine, octadecylamine, lysolecithin, dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide, N,N , http://www.childscreen.org www.momsonamissionforautism.org > > Does anyone know about this? Guest guest
, thanks for your response. Yes, the Rita Hoffman letter was one of the first things I read mentioning adjuvant 65, that and another informative article about vaccine ingredients which I cannot locate right now. Hoffman's letter, in fact, has been one of the most informative resources I've found regarding the possible connections between vaccinations and allergy sensitization. I'm wondering about this more now. Is it as true in the U.S., as in Canada as Ms. Hoffman notes, that vaccine ingredients are not fully disclosed? Is the information listed in vaccine package inserts incomplete? Perhaps you or someone else on the list can bring me up to speed on what goes on when parent attempts to learn what the ingredients in a vaccine really are. I myself have only looked up ingredients on the web and have not gone so far as to try to find the lot numbers and such for the vaccinations my daughter did receive-- primarily because it would mean contacting her former pediatrician's office and I am in still in a hateful mood toward them. Her vaccination records don't list it, they simply say " see chart " where it is supposed to list the manufacturer lot number. > Hi , welcome to the list. Guest guest
Hi , there is something referred to as trade secrets. If an ingredient is not a substantial part of the whole, then it doesn't have to be added to the ingredient list. Lot numbers are required by law to be listed on your childs records. You can look up the vaccine package inserts for each vaccine, but as you can see they won't all necessarily be there. Here is something from the CDC that proves this. http://www.cdc.gov/od/nvpo/fs_tableVI_doc1.htm PS: I would love to forward your post to Rita with your permission? She would be glad to know her work is helping. > , thanks for your response. Guest guest
> PS: I would love to forward your post to Rita with your permission? > She would be glad to know her work is helping. , You are welcome to forward the message, but I have already sent my compliments (and some questions) directly to Ms. Hoffman myself just the other day! Thank you for the information you provided in your note. I'll be diving into this issue a bit more. I cannot help but feel the rise in deadly peanut allergies is somehow related to vax issues. It would be most interesting to have a detailed study done on the differences in ingredients of vaccines between those countries with high rates of peanut allergy and those without similar rates. I was discouraged recently to read a report that E. Germany had overall lower rates of allergies (yet has a more stringent vax program as it turns out), I'd hoped to see the opposite news, yet perhaps it is the ingredients in the vaccines causing trouble. If anyone has info regarding ingredient differences in various parts of the world I'd be most grateful.
Guest guest
Hi , Welcome. My son (now 2) had only the first two " sets " of shots, then we stopped them to " wait " then I decided NO WAY altogether. Unfortunately, we found out the day before his first birthday that he has a severe peanut allergy (the HARD way). I can ONLY believe this was caused by his vaccines. I would be interested to know which vaxes " adjuvant 65 " was used in so I could compare it to the jabs he did have. We've brought him to an allergist who traumatized him and stuck him 21 times (skin prick tests) only to tell us that yes indeed, he is allergic to peanut butter (gee thanks, I could have guess that when his eyes swelled shut seconds after his first taste of peanut butter). My next step is Applied Kinesiology for muscle testing (to test for other allergies), but before I have the money for that, I need the money to see a homeopath to get rid of my own (vaccine induced I'm sure) adult acne, psoriasis and excema. Vaccines suck :-( ~ le ======= At 2003-01-27, 22:36:00you wrote: ======= Hi all, I'm , mom to a fully vaccinated 5-year-old son and a partially vaccinated 2-year-old daughter. Although there is some history of allergy in both sides of the family, I was taken aback by how very severe her eczema was and felt certain there was some role that vaccination played. Luckily, just as I was about to back down to the doctors, we found a combination allopathic/homeopathic medical practice and the nurse there encouraged us to rethink vaccinating her until she was at least two- years old. That's where we are now and while our primary care doctors are not pressing us to vaccinate, the allergists we've dealt with have been very hostile about our holding off. I feel the need to become as well-informed as possible, which feels very tricky in this medical-community-worshipping climate of the U.S.! with her history of eczema and this country's current moves toward starting smallpox vaccinations I have additional worries now! My daughter's eczema was finally brought under control through diet and supplements and the care of a natural physician/chiropractor. But her severe allergies persist and her reactions are inching toward anaphylaxis. We are awaiting her most recent round of blood tests for allergens, but so far have confirmed food allergies to wheat, soy, peanut, and dairy, with eggs and oats being highly suspect as well. She also has a rather severe dog allergy. I feel very strongly that we have avoided, thus far, the development of further allergies and asthma only because we stopped vaccinating and looked for alternative treatments for her conditions. I have many questions, but will ask only one now and search the archives for a while to see what I can learn. In the meantime, the question that has been burning in my mind is about " adjuvant 65. " In one of the anti-vaccine websites I've visited in the past months, adjuvant 65 is described as peanut oil but I cannot find any information relating to whether or not it is an adjuvant currently used in human vaccines (it is not listed in any of the vaccine package inserts I've read, but that doesn't satisfy me, of course!) Does anyone know about this? Peanut allergies have tripled in the allergic population since 1989, and being one of the most dangerous, severe, and life-threatening out there, I feel certain there must be an undisclosed, although perhaps already identified, cause out there. Vaccines are my number one suspect right now. thanks in advance for any feedback. Looking forward to learning more with you all.

Guest guest
le, I'll let you know when I find something definitive on adjuvant 65. I don't know for certain if it is in human vaccines yet. It certainly hasn't been listed in package inserts I've seen, but I don't feel convinced that means it isn't our culprit. Although we see conventional allergists for tests for her allergies, the best success we've had with her health was through seeing an alternative doctor who put she and I (still nursing) on a dysbiosis diet. It cleared her severe eczema. Tough diet, but very worth it. She also experienced much milder allergy symptoms while we wee seeing this doctor, but she does still have them. This doc thought he could eliminate them within a few months, but they are just too severe. The good news is that a friend who saw this doctor and did the diet for her severely peanut allergic son at 3 years found that RAST tests confirmed he'd outgrown the peanut allergy by 5 years old. I truly believe that the treatments helped them in that, but couldn't make it disappear immediately. Strict avoidance of peanuts is necessary until it's (hopefully) outgrown, obviously, and of course an epi-pen in case of accidental exposure. Good luck! ======= > > Hi all, > > I'm , mom to a fully vaccinated 5-year-old son and a partially > vaccinated 2-year-old daughter. Guest guest
I have been reading the message for about a month now. I have learned so much but still have lots more questions. Here's a bit about my son. We are waiting to see a speech therapist here in NC at a facility that using the PROMPT method among others. We'll hopefully get that appt. in the next week or two (long wait list and other delays). Ronan is 6, born just a few weeks early, hit most milestones on time or within a month of being on time. Sensory issues and possible seizure happened after his flu shot right before age two. He didn't walk til 29.5 months, had some words, came out like they were chopped off. It sounded like if I patted him on the back, maybe the other half of the word would come out: -ight for light; -shes for ashes. Other vaccines did *something* also so we've worked with some biomed, dietary changes, therapies, etc. He's was in a developmentally day preschool since 19 months receiving PT, OT and speech in an inclusion setting before going to a self-contained, mostly autistic classroom in the public school. We lost PT (grrrr!), but maintain OT and speech. The teachers and therapists can't get Ronan to work with them (another grrr, personally feel they are under-trained, now battling with SD and IEPs, basically they think I'm a lunatic) and get only 'five to ten, maybe fifteen seconds of work out of him' where at home, we can sit and do table top activities like puzzles, writing/drawing, pointing to letters and numbers correctly, " reading " books and identifying objects, building, etc. for up 25 minutes. Ronan goes to a private ABA/VB school 2 afternoons a week (we pay big bucks to send him there). Regular school is a joke since they've already put Ronan in a box and don't want to open the lid--school psych did an IQ test for the 3-year re-eval: scores were very low but she modified the standardized test and we think used an inappropriate test for Ronan. We asked for a second test to be done and the score got lower (to 37) but she also modified parts of the test and could only get him to cooperate for 5 seconds. We refuse to allow the score in the IEP since the 37 is in the severely mentally retarded range and clearly our child is not MR. He has communication delays but school see low score = why bother teaching him. We keep asking for help with language skills and development and they keep saying no. We are so frustrated. Ronan is a bright, clever, intuitive child. He uses sign language (and gestures since his fine motor needs lots of work). One of the first things Ronan did when he learned to sign was joke, " Daddy girl, daddy girl " and laughed and laughed He can pretend cry when we sign " cry. " He belts out a laugh when we say, " show me laughing. " I even thought, wait, what if I say, " Show me talking " to see if he'd talk. He's trying to speak here, at school and with our friends. It's just not coherent. Our neurologist thinks Ronan is oral apraxic with hearing our stories and watching Ronan interact with us. The neuro. is being seen since Ronan has a mitochondrial disease. This one is known to present with features of autism...his behaviors come and go depending on the situation, his energy levels, health at the time and other factors. We've asked the preschool and the new public school speech therapists multiple times if Ronan could be apraxic. They said no, no, no, it's got to be something else. The public school isn't teaching Ronan signs, we have to do that. They wouldn't even do any academics with Ronan since he didn't have the " life skills " to access the academic environment. We kept asking why then, is he labeled kindergartener in a kindergarten classroom? The teacher finally did some academic work with Ronan SEVEN months into this school year and said, " I'm blown away. He knows his letters! " I used to teach in a reg. ed. classroom so I'm now the teacher on top of advocate, therapists, nurse, doctor blah blah blah. So, that's a part of our long story. We've tried the fish oils in the past, but that was with a whole bunch of other supplements when we didn't have the mito dx. I'm curious to try them again since we have only a few supps and Rx for Ronan now. I have read " The Late Talker " but it was so long ago. I definitely want to read it again. I have four other children so we are busy and watching various stages and ages of child development trying to work with each one. My 4-year old didn't talk until he was 3. Man, he doesn't stop talking now! My 2-year old has delayed speech but not enough to qualify with the county for services (grrr! my 4-year old's speech eval was tough to get when he was two and not talking at all. This was because Ronan's SLP was in charge of the early intervention--she thought I was nuts to think Willem had problems, just give him time, he's a boy, he has a big sister to talk for him, there's a lot of stuff going on in the house--cripes!! Lo and behold, he had a 75% speech delay--Mommy's are smart I hope to learn even more and will share what the new therapist has to say after our eval with her. If we find out it is apraxia (oral or verbal), we'll be marching into the school with our info and praying they can help us. Ronan's got a lot of the signs with the drooling, trying to talk but vocalizations come out jumbled, that tongue protrusion (OH MY GOSH, it is so bad), no open cup use (sensory issue), dysphagia with overstuffing, and his mouth has such low tone (like other body parts--first sign he was having developmental delays). Ronan drools when he is working with me on his 'lessons' too. We know it is because he is concentrating so hard on completing his task. When he drools a lot, more good work happens. Is this typical of other kids? I'll keep reading.... Thanks,
