Nixi,

1) it's 50kg of equvilence to sugar (i.e. it is less than a 1 kg of powder)

2) That's a great idea to preach CRON to people with those eating disorders...seems like that could be a medical breakthrough treatment.

Thanks,

PLEASE NO! There is no food I can imagine that is

more deleterious to your health than vomiting it up

would be! Even a single induced purging episode

can have serious health effects, including stopping

your heart via electrolyte imbalance.

PS. One of my interests in CR is as a compromise

to offer to anorexic and bulimic patients. Many of

them associate recovery with obesity. I am

considering switching from a psych major to

dietetics specifically because I want to work with

this group. I think that offering them a way to eat

that is able to improve the quality and length of

their life that doesn't involve making them gain

a lot of weight will be more effective than insisting

that they eat "normally." Besides, they are already

experts at calculating the nutritional and caloric

contents of foods through long years of practice.

They would find this way of eating to be luxurious

compared to their former starvation, and yet it

retains the sense of having rules and guidlelines

which characterized their previous eating habits.
