Guest guest
Hi Lizzy, There is vitamin E in the proefa and proepa I give to my son. Just because something is healthy in small amounts doesn't mean it is in large amounts. Why do you put " negative " in quotes. Clearly from what I read some of the parents who put their children onto speech had what I would consider to be serious reactions! My prayers are with them and all our wonderful children. Guest guest
Liz, I still believe you have a valid issue about possible rancidity. Before I received my speak all I heard about was the fishy smell, how it seemed to permeate the skin. My speak were fine; barely a perceivable fish smell. Question: What happens with rancid fish oil other than the smell? Can it make you sick or does it lower its nutritional value? Joy [ ] Re: Speak supplement ? Vitamin E reduces inflammation and is a powerful antioxidant. I do wonder if the " negative " stories are simply of it working too well if you know what I am saying. I also wonder about the fish oil rancidity issues with the posts that claim a really fishy smell. I hope this all gets studied because for the right kids at the right doseage I bet this could be a big help. In the interim, great food sources of vitamin k and E are listed at whfoods. ---
Guest guest
I am just going on memory and will leave it to someone else to check archives but I recall a post from Dr. about rancid fish oil being a bad thing. > Liz, > I still believe you have a valid issue about possible rancidity. Guest guest
My prayers are in the same place. The E in the fish oil you give your child is an amount designed to make up for E oxidation from the oils themselves and to preserve the oil in transit. If there is not enough E otherwise in diet and/or if there is malabsorption, more may be needed. How much more and how to get it where it needs to go is the million dollar question. If a child truly suffered from excess E symptoms the problem may very well that they needed the E but the body had a transport issue (due to what is again the big question)to get it where it was needed. I wonder if unaddressed GERD issues would send to much to the brain and not through the normal digestive tract where it could then be moved where it is needed. Again, we need stuies and not guesses from laypeople like me.
Guest guest
From Mark of Shephard Center: National Disability Employment Awareness Month http://www.bdi-atl.org/NDEAM/index.aspx Many people do not realize that people with disabilities are Americas largest minority group. The disability community numbers approximately 54 million and contains people of every ethnicity, age, and gender. Despite this significant presence, there is a lack of regular public dialogue about how to be inclusive of this major segment of our population. Disability 101 can help! The four Web-based modules of Disability 101 provide the answers, tips, and resources to help our communities and businesses look beyond the disability and actively include people with disabilities. Disability 101 training is free FYI, for anyone in the Atlanta area.
