Guest guest
Hello everyone, I thought I could make a start on a simple CR dietary by using the " traffic light " chart (Anti-Aging, p. 49, fig. 5.2), but unfortunately it leaves out brown rice. My plan was to begin by eating a bean/rice portion at every meal (being a vegetarian leaning to veganism), supplemented with greens such as cabbage, broccoli, bell peppers, celery, romaine lettuce, etc. Boring but effective. But the chard didn't include brown rice. Can someone give me the caloric value for 1/ 3 cup beans (pinto if you know) and 2/3 cup brown rice. (My understanding is that a complete protein is formed from 1 part cooked beans to two parts cooked brown rice.) Also, I am an enthusiast of the megavitamin/mineral supplementation. So I have a daily " health shake " consisting of a base of 2 cups soy milk; a banana; 1/3 cup Bahamian Diet powder -- which contains all my vitamins and minerals in pulverized form. This is sweetened with a bit of stevia and flavored with almond or vanilla extract -- sometimes powdered carob or unsweetened cocoa. I look forward to all of your responses.
