Guest guest
I don't check in as often as I used to but wanted to pass along some good news. My 6dd Apraxic daughter had Hydrocephalus as a baby. She did not require a shunt but did have four surgeries. Hydrocephalus is defined as a Life Threatening Condition. She was dx with Mild CP when she went into preschool, CP is a life-long condition. Last Fall I applied to Make A Wish for her. After they got an official diagnosis from her Neurosurgeon- they said they were coming to the house to give Tara a Wish! That was about a month ago. They knew she had a severe speech delay so no one knew, not even me, if she'd be able to tell them what she wanted of if she even understood what they were asking. Well, we all underestimated her and LOUD and clear- when they said " is there somewhere you'd like to go? " . She said Disney! We had been coaching her just a little on the castle and the princesses! We are leaving Mothers Day weekend for 7days, this way I get a little credit down there for all the work I've done with her and for her! Since I don't get much at home! MAW grants wishes to Life Threatening conditions in addition to terminal they are known for. My daughter is not in any kind of terminal condition- far from it! Thanks for listening all!
