Diptheria is no longer around in the US-- so that is something very easily skipped without concern that your child (general not specific) would contract it. Tetanus is another one that is just unnecessarily given-- ESPECIALLY for children who are under the age of 12mos or who are not walking yet. Tetanus isn't something that a child under 1 will have an issue with since they wouldn't be walking around an area where they would become infected with tetanus. The other important thing to remember with tetanus, is that it's only found in certain areas of soil. A person does NOT contract it from stepping onto a rusty nail, or the proverbial rusty object. That's a fallicy. It's found in soil, usually from FARMING areas, and it's also anaerobic and cannot exist where there is air present. What does that mean? Well-- basically, in a nut shell, the chances of tetanus actually being present where most kids are is pretty low, but with PROPER WOUND CLEANSING, it's not something that can be contracted . For instance--you can easily cleanse the wound with peroxide and it would be fine. BUT-- most people aren't aware of the facts of something like tetanus, and are always taught that it's from a rusty nail etc. But it's not the truth. So, I highly recommend that people RESEARCH what actually causes the viruses/diseases and see if it's something that THEIR child is likely to contract etc. There are different lifestyles that determine the risks for our children. One of the best books I've found on the market for information is " The Vaccine Guide " by Randall Neustaeder ( I think I got the spelling correctly). Because it gives a balanced view of the causes and it's not from a " Pro-Vaccine " or " Anti-Vaccine " stance-- but simple information in laymen's terms. Another thing is the POLIO vaccine. The only cases of polio in the US that have been reported in the more recent years, has been CAUSED BY the vaccine. Getting the facts on this would also help parents decide as to if it's necessary or not. I could go on-- because there are others on the list that are definite ones that make NO sense to vaccinate with (liek Rotavirus vax and Hep but I'll stop LOL becky **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Guest guest
I completely agree with you, Becky -- on everything. The point I was really trying to make was that even mainstream Dr Sears is beginning to listen to and take into account what many moms and dads are saying.....and to offer that parent that is undecided about the mmr a little more information. I personally didn't research what those shots on his A list, and I'm now shocked too. I guess I'd felt that my son had them already.......no turning back now. Thanks for the information and book recommendation......I'm keeping information in case we have more kids. At one time, I ONLY listened to people like Dr. Sears, because he was somewhat middle of the road, and that's all I could accept at the time. I was at that same crossroads 2 years ago -- to give the mmr or delay it? I'm so grateful that I delayed the shot. My son still hasn't had it and never will (and he also hasn't had the second Hep A). And then as recently as Oct. I was searching for the alternative flu and mmr for my son. Then I came across this article and experienced some peace of mind and did not give the shots. I finally stopped dead in my tracks when I received my sons lab results and was able to see just how toxic his little body is. I was one of those parents that witnessed changes in my child's health and abilities directly after certain shots -- but at the time, I didn't realize how significant these changes were. If there is a " next time " , I'm going to go into as informed as I can be. @...: tbniesh@...: Fri, 29 Feb 2008 17:04:02 -0500Subject: Re: [ ] Dr Sears & MMR Shot In a message dated 2/29/2008 12:30:44 P.M.
